Spot on and I too remember the monster that the welter Canelo was.

    You're right. :rofl

Canelo HAS to move up to middleweight next year, FOR THE FANS. :happy

Otherwise, GGG would have to fight Andy Lee. Not terrible but not Canelo!

:patsch Canelo walks around at 175, and I mean 175 minimum and he has weighed over 170 numerous times on fight night.

    Canelo 167 - Mosley 164

    Canelo 171 - Lara 166

    Canelo 172 - Trout 171

Canelo 170 - Angulo 174 or it might be the other way round (some sources say it was this and others say it was actually Canelo who weighed 174, either way Canelo was 170 minimum.

And he was obviously over 170 when he fought Kirkland too. Both him and Kirkland looked like they were about 180 at one of their pre-fight press conferences. Kirkland was 174 against Carlos Molina, over 20lbs what he was on the scales the day before. Angulo is another LMW who has come in over 170 numerous times. He was 174 against Lara and Lara was 170 against Ishe Smith IIRC.

Canelo started camp for Floyd at 176, Golovkin walks around at about 170 and he said he was 167 in a recent video interview and that was one month after he'd fought and was out of training.

    Golovkin 173 - Rubio 181

    Golovkin 170 - Macklin 170

    Golovkin 168 - Proksa 166

Golovkin 167 - Rosado ? I'm not sure how much he weighed but he was 175 for Quillin

    Golovkin 170 - Monroe 172

Roach said Cotto would be 166 against Geale.

This is the only recorded fight night weight of Cotto's I know of

    Contested at light welterweight

    Miguel Cotto: 157 - DeMarcus Corley: 140

Draining himself down to 140 and then coming in the ring 17lbs heavier on fight night. What a ''big bully'', eh?

I honestly wonder why Cotto doesn't have his fight weights recorded

He's 26....He hasn't even grown into his adult frame.

Canelo looks like JCCJR did at his weighins.

In the end, Canelo will finish as a SMW, maybe even LHW.

    JCCJR started as a LW.
He outgrew the skinny, no muscle frame he was sporting and got lazy enough he can't even make SMW.
Canelo, is at least staying fit between fights.

I don't know why he doesn't but it takes 2 seconds to jump on a set of scales, why do some fighters refuse to do so unless they have something to hide?

Because he's a couple lbs lighter than GGG in the ring and wants to make idiots believe he's still a LMW.
Luckily for him he only has to cut 12 lbs for the limit.

Canelo had to cut 20lbs to make Canelo weight for the Kirkland fight.

Floyd took 3-4 lbs of IV therapy directly after the weighin. Yet ppl claim he fights at 149.

thats funny 8 lbs is the exact number he wants Golovkin to go up to fight him... so Golovkin can go up 8 lbs but ward cannot go down 8 lbs even though ward said he would fight at 160 against floyd. :good

Golovkin fears at 168 he will be humiliated by Ward of scores like 118-110, 117-111, 120-108.
