Ellerbe, any example fights of Ward effectively smothering boxers? I just havent' seen many of Ward's fights to judge him.

  2. Ermhh no... Just because he doesn't spend his life whining on social media about Ward doesn't mean he's ducking him! Ward doesn't even fight in his division! If Ward showed us a sensible, lucrative, fair & genuine contract put forth to Golovkins team & told us that they flat out declined or rebuffed then I'd take notice! How can you be ducking an inactive SMW who has spent years sitting on his laurels whilst at the same time you're about to fight to unify the MW division?! Are you serious? The fight hasn't happened & is unlikely to for some time to come but it doesn't mean it will never happen & nor does it mean a duck if it doesn't! Boxing is a business, so stop being so naive & quit with this wishful thinking to curb your Golovkin butthurt! No matter how many times you tell yourself Ward beats him, it hasn't happened! Lemieux & Canelo are most likely in the immediate future for Golovkin so Ward can just wait his turn or go to LHW if Degale doesn't float his boat! And if Golovkin isn't worthy (as the trolls say) then why is Ward so desperate to name check him all the time! If Golovkin is no good you guys & Ward would be indifferent to this guy! Ward fanboys... Just because your keep saying it doesn't make it true lol

Golovkin is the mandatory for Cotto, Cotto is paying Golovkin step aside money so he can fight Alvarez instead, then the winner has to fight Golovkin. Golovkin has a big fight coming up with Lemieux. No reason to fight Ward in Ward's home town with Ward's personal referee, judges, boxing commission, etc., but Golovkin would suprise Ward, who's best punch is his head......................

Ward is on record as refusing a big money fight with Stevenson, Stevenson said he would fight him at 168, Ward is still afraid..........now Duva is trying to make a fight between Kovalev and Ward next year, but Ward has not agreed................Golovkin has big money fights coming up, Ward has nothing..................Why should Golovkin fight Ward on BET when he can make big money and gain another title in his own weight division...............let Ward fight Beterbiev, afterall, Beterbiev has only had 9 pro fights, but again, Ward refuses...................Golovkin does not need Ward...........but Kovalev and Stevenson both want to fight him...........

Oh FFS, we've all been over this a million times. Try reading at least a bit of the thread you post on and attempt to have an original thought.

Remember how Ward and all his disciples kept banging on about how Ward is too small for 175 when people called for him to do what he/they were criticizing Golovkin for not doing ie. to move up in weight to face Kovalev or Stevenson? It's perfectly fine for Ward to pick on smaller fighters though while they label Golovkin a ''big bully'' for wanting to unify all the belts in his division, which has always been his #1 goal, or always respectfully and usually when posed the question, saying he would like to fight Floyd and is willing to move down to 154 ie. the division Floyd was the unified king in, for the fight if Floyd was open to the idea of it.

    Remember all this talk?

''Dre only weighs 176 on fight night, just 3lbs more than what Golovkin weighs''

    ''Dre makes 168 easy doe''

    ''I am not a light-heavyweight''

    --Andre Ward

''Anyone who walks around at 178-179lbs is just not a light-heavyweight''

    --Virgil Hunter

Ward still walks around at exactly the same weight now as he has been walking around at since 2007. In fact, if you listen to his trainer, he even weighs slightly less now than he did then *only when Kovalev and Stevenson's names are brought up and the prospect of moving up to 175 is put to him though * lol

But Golovkin walks around at 170 and he said that he was only 167 a month out of training in a recent video interview so how the f*ck is he a SMW? Moreover, how is he a ''worthy'' challenger for Ward's crown if the reigning lineal LHW champion Stevenson and the then reigning IBF SMW champion Bute weren't? How comes he has the ''track record'' and doesn't have to ''win some big fights to earn his shot'' or doesn't have to ''fight one or two A class opponents first'' like they had to?

From a 2007 interview with Andre Ward

Andre Ward: ''I’m walking around 180''

    2015

    ''I walk around at 180lbs''

When Virgil Hunter is posed the question about Ward moving up to 175 to face Kovalev and Stevenson:

''Me personally I think he (Ward) will always be a super-middleweight''

    Virgil Hunter July, 2015

"I’m not a light heavyweight. That’s what it is. I know there’s been a lot of noise about [Sergey] Kovalev. That’s one fight. That’s not even a pay per view fight. That’s a premium network television fight. When I go there and we beat Kovalev, they’re going to say he’s just a puncher and he’s one-dimensional.''

    --Andre Ward, 2014

Well what are they going to say if you beat little Golovkin who is just a MW and who in Ward's own words was ''only the #2 or #3 MW in the world at the time and hadn't beaten anyone (yes Ward was calling out Golovkin then too)?

But Ward already said he was open to the idea of fighting at a catchweight or dropping down in weight when he was calling out Sergio and Floyd.

    From Andre "S.O.G." Wards twitter

    Before the fight:

    Andre S.O.G. Ward?@andreward

"I've never seen Macklin fight. But pulling for Martinez for a possible fight between us."

    After the fight:

    Andre S.O.G. Ward?@andreward

"Good win by Martinez. Did what he had to do. I'm ready!!!"

'BT: I was asking because, well, obviously the biggest fight in boxing is Mayweather vs. Pacquiao, but in my opinion, the second biggest fight that can be made is Andre Ward vs. Sergio Martinez. I know Martinez's people have been saying they don't want to move up any higher in weight, but I was curious to know if you thought maybe you could get down to maybe 165 and meet him at a catchweight.

AW: I think something like that could be reasonable. I would have to really take my time and see if that makes sense, but Sergio Martinez, I would love that fight. I think it would be a great fight for the sport; I really do. I respect his skills, I respect what he's done and what he's doing, and I say this with the utmost respect, man, that's a fight that, if it can happen, it should happen. I would love that. ' trap

'Ward stated on the social networks - "Lil Floyd says he spars middleweights. He is the only man I will sacrifice coming to 160 for. He won't take that bait!!!"

Why Dre calling out a welterweight and a super-featherweight, doe? :rofl

    Andre Ward 2012

"I am ready to fight the best 168- and 175-pounders that are out there," Ward told ESPN.com in a recent interview. "At this point, a big fight at 175 is interesting to me. I don't want to go up just to go up. But for the right fight, for a big fight, I would go up. I'm willing to fight anyone at '68 or '75."

    And again

“People ask me on the street or on Twitter when I'm coming back,” said Ward, who is expecting his fourth child with wife Tiffiney in mid-June. “Well, I'm coming. I want Bute but I'm ready for any big fight at 168 or 175 pounds.”

    Andre Ward, 2011

"After the tournament, I want to face Lucian Bute. Nobody else comes to mind. However, I do not intend to underestimate any opponent, and first I need to focus on winning the tournament. If I win the tournament and beat Bute, it would be everything that I could achieve [at this weight]. Therefore, in the future I do intend to move up. I want to win titles and face the best. The tournament, organized by Showtime, gave me the opportunity to fight the best fighters in my category, and after its completion there won't be anything for me at this weight''

But it all changed as soon as Kovalev and Stevenson burst onto the scene leaving a trail of destruction in their wake. :rofl

GGG should forget about Ward. Roc Nation will come crawling to K2 once they figure out the hole they are in. All the Ward fans talk alot of smack but they will never pay a dime for his fights, meanwhile Golovkin has a PPV fight coming up.

Ward needs Golovkin more than Golovkin needs Ward, and K2 should forget about this fight until Roc Nation realizes this. Hopefully sooner than later.
