you guys cry on and on "money doesnt matter...blah blah....money doesnt mean anything this or that"...all that ****....the minute you dont like what you have to hear it turns 180..... ward made more in a comeback fight off a layoff at a catchweight against a bum than ggg did in his last fight against yet another bum....deal with it....thats what it is......swallow it down like the daily load you swallow.......it says something....ward is bigger in boxing and yer a hom0
ggg fights the same opposition ward fought, in his last fight which was comeback off a long layoff, regularly..........so yeah ....i mean if ggg was fighting stiffer comp you might have some sort of gripe ward and gggs last opponents are at the same level....and ward made more......im not sure what yer trying to say....are you trying to act like ward fought a higher level of opposition last time out than ggg did? nope
I'd say with the catchweight demand and circumstances, yes. Golovkin is the draw for now but there's only so many 2nd tier guys he can fight before that drawing power diminishes due to a lack of competition. Of the name guys he can potentially fight, Ward is clearly the most attainable match as he'll likely have to wait a year to fight the Cotto/Canelo winner(or likely even the loser), if that fight can be made at all given the obvious reluctance that both fighters have shown to fight Golovkin. However, he would probably make a lot less money fighting Ward than either of those two while the risk would be a lot higher of defeat. So while I don't think GGG is "afraid" of Ward, he is ducking him in hopes of getting that bigger money fight later. If Cotto or Canelo continue to avoid him, then he might revisit fighting Ward next year.
ive been saying that for awhile now....he wont get canelo for at least year........so the ward fight makes sense now...hed still have time to come back and move back to 160 n get comfy....his people are afraid of ward....afraid a loss will damage his "brand"...plain and simple because the fight makes alot of sense .....but his fanboys make tons of excuses....even though he said "anyone".....funny how "anyone" is carl froch or chavez.....but not ward
Cisco Fruit is saying that the only factor that determines A/B side is what the fighter gets paid. Yes or no? I disagree with him.
id say...when both fighters competition is relatively equivalent? yeah.....id tend to agree......did manny pac say he was the aside because he was more popular with the boxing community than floyd was?
he is ducking ward....when you claim youll fight anyone "154 to 168" and call out froch and chavez......yer ducking......you can try all you want to make the claim that ward is 175 now....but this last fight was his first try into that class...and it wasnt even full....ward can easily make 168......gggs people are afraid a loss will damage his "brand"......thats clear.......ward is a 168 legend....but they only want 168 guys on the cusp of retirement or chavez who sucks you make your claim...but have nothing substantial to back it up
i think ward is the one ducking here, he refuses to budge on any issue and wants all the advantages. ward acts like he is a superstar - even though he has trouble selling tickets and fights on BET. this is all about bargaining power, ward has none of it.
Offering a b-side fighter a 50/50 money and weight split sure is an odd way of ducking. What if Ward had said "sure, let's do it"?? Then would Gennady be ducking? Sadly, Ward ducked that generous offer so that's that. Sure hope you are in this for the long haul. GGG will most likely keep you hatin for several years to come. "And STILL...."
The guy who gets the higher purse is the "A" side. Period, end of. That's why team Triple Duck wants 50/50 - because they *understand* that Ward is the higher paid fighter and therefore the "A" side. 1 + 1 = 2
and still what? king of the bums? 50/50 for a bside fighter? who has ggg fought that makes him an aside? he made less last time out than ward did? hows that an aside??? i dont hate ggg.....i just hate his irrational fans...they are rivaling pac....they hate on other fighters for certain things but they let their "darlings" get away with the things they hate....ggg is just that....his resume sucks to holy he1l and hes 33.....hes not great....hes just like anyone else....money and risk/reward take precedent
Golovkin would only fight Froch or Chavez at 168 because they were big fights. Same way as Golovkin will only fight at 154 for Mayweather because he's a big fight. Does that mean he's ducking everyone else at 154? No. Does that mean he's ducking every else at 168? No. They were all exceptions because they were big fights. He'll fight Ward but after he unifies the division and after he gets a PPV fight. He's been very clear about that.
