big fights eh? ward is one of the bigger names in the game....he doesnt have big drawing power on his own against no namers....but he holds his weight against another name....which is what ggg is ggg/ward is a big fight man....dont try to tell us otherwise.....ward is one of the top fighters in the game and his resume ****s all over gggs sad sack of one he wants to unify the division before fighting ward? how convenient!?!?! he didnt feel that need before fighting froch or chavez(please dont tell us how those fights are so much bigger....yeah froch is bigger on a pay scale fighting in england....but not a whole heck of alot bigger).....he doesnt need to unify first.....hes using that as an out......by the time ggg is ready for that fight ward will have sunk his teeth in at 175 with no desire to back down.....thats what ggg is banking on the fight makes sense now.....ggg will not get canelo till at least oct/nov next year.......plenty of time to go back down....gggs people just dont plain want it...theyre afraid it will ruin his aura or "brand"...
I'm going to stop you right there. First, Ward is not a big name. At all. Only 300 thousand people watched his fight on BET for free... Golovkin has a good chance at more people BUYING his fight than the amount of people that watched Ward. Ward is a no name right now coming off a long layoff. Like GGG said, "Everyone forgot him." Also, it doesn't make sense now. Golovkin will be fighting the Canelo/Cotto winner in the spring, so why would he go up to 168 for a non-ppv fight and then have to go alllll the way back down to 160 for Canelo in the next few months. It makes ZERO sense. Everything that Golovkin wants (PPV fights, 160 belts) are all below Ward. Ward means nothing to him at the moment. If Ward REALLY wants the fight, then he can come down to 164. If he doesn't/can't, then he'll have to wait until Golovkin has completed his goals at 160.
stop saying things like "im gonna stop you right there"...you arent stopping anything ward, with another name, is a big fight....plain and simple...yeah ward on some no name boxing network in a comeback fight against a no name....is a **** fight...... remember this....paul smith....as a ward comeback is about as good as any of gggs 33 fights........and it was just a comeback off a long layoff...... ward is a big name in the game....he still made more money last time out than ggg....... ward vs (insert big name fighter) is a big fight.....dont pretend like its not you ggg ballwasher
Why are you ignoring all of my other points? Ward is not a big enough draw to entice Golovkin to move up and fight him at this point in time. Chavez and Froch were, Ward is NOT.
ward certainly is enough of a draw combined with ggg to make it a big fight....thats what you conveniently ignore you guys have your butthoals all puckered up for a lemieux fight....cause its like the best fight ggg has ever made....and at the end of the day its david lemieiux who lost to rubio(kelly pavlik beat him while drunk off 23 keystone lights).......you ignore all my points....dont talk about ignoring your weak "point" about ward not being a draw.....ward is known as a top 5 p4p fighter and a 168 kingpin.....its a big fight....u just dont wanna see it.....and luckily for you neither does k2
No, he's not. Prove to me how he would be? Golovkin can fight a no name and sells out the Forum, is on HBO, and has over a million views. FIGHTING A NO NAME. Ward fights a no name, has empty seats, has to be on BET, and has only 300K views. He's not big enough at the moment for Golovkin to go out of his way to go up to 168.
I get the criticism of GGG's willingness to move up from someone like Froch but not Ward. But the other part of the equation is that GGG's preference is not to move up for anyone, but rather stay at 160 and unify the division. I see why he wouldn't want to test himself quite yet against the undisputed best fighter at 168 and risk suffering a defeat if his intentions are to go back down to 160 to continue his pursuit unifications anyways. A loss would just give the 160lbers an even bigger excuse for them not to face him.
ward fights no name on BET....ggg sells out forum on hbo......and WARD STILL GETS PAID MORE....you understand that yet? i dont care who loses money or what loses money....ward got paid MORE! ward vs another name is a big fight......ward went through the super6 and everyone made out ok
