the only 160lb guy worth a lick that might fight him is canelo.......you think ggg losing to ward would hinder canelo from that fight anymore than ggg not fighting ward and still being unbeaten?

I think if he lost to ward before fighting Canelo his power in negotiating would greatly diminish.

If Cotto beats Canelo or loses in a competitive fight then he's also a worthwhile reason for GGG to stay at MW.

I also believe him and his team when they say they want to unify all the belts so a matchup against Lee is something I'm sure they find attractive.

And yes, guys are and have been avoiding him on the basis that he hasn't fought anyone. I think if he were to fight Ward and lose, the excuse would change to him having a loss and not being as attractive of an opponent.

Hasn't Ward ducked Golovkin twice now (an earlier try on HBO; then the catchweight refusal)?

Not sure how much more Golovkin can do. Ward just does not seem to want the fight.

IF Golovkin is ducking Ward (if you want to try and say a fighter can duck someone who isnt even in their weightclass)

Then Ward is ducking Kovalev just as much, if not more, and every fighter is ducking the guy in the division above them that would love to poach the division lower then them.

He's not getting paid more after this fight, considering GGG's next fight is on PPV :)

The fact that Ward gets paid a considerable amount is another reason it isn't reasonable because the amount he'd ask would need it to be a PPV fight, and Ward isn't a PPV fight.

To me is clear GGG is crazy fighting Ward he's going to be the uinderdog loosing his 0 won't help him to land serious money against Canelo o Cotto.

Ward will never come down from 168 for anybody GGG don't have a chance at 168 against Ward this fight is dead.

you cant duck someone who's in a different weight class, even Canelo who technically fights at MW, though I really don't consider someone who fights at 155, and has never fought close to 160 a MW, isn't ducking GGG.
but those who say canelo is ducking ggg should agree that ggg is ducking ward, but then again since it's mostly GGG fanboys like lewis gassed on here, they'll never keep it real.

LMFAO, you think Lemieux is a PPV fight but Ward isnt? Ward is a way bigger draw, what an idiot lmao. You just dont him to fight Ward because you're scared, fans like YOU make GGG look like a duck. You're fine with GGG picking on Cotto/Canelo who have never even fought at the 160 pound weight though right?

Lemieux has a super exciting fan-friendly style that'll be easy to sell. Can't say the same with Ward.

And no, I'm fine with Golovkin picking on opponents who are standing in his way of unification. (Lemieux, Canelo/Cotto winner, Lee).

Ward outdraws Lemieux by far, your theory is absolutely re****ed. Compared to Lemieux, Ward is 10x more of a name and more of a draw.

Yea but there is a big difference between saying that everyone is ducking you from 154 to 168 and saying that your only willing to go 154 or 168 for big money fights.
