Then Joe Calzaghe could not have been in your p4p top 10 then, even after he had beaten Jeff Lacy in 2006 and moved into The Ring's official p4p top 10, because at that point Calzaghe had NEVER beaten anyone ranked in the top 10.

Chad Dawson is one of the most talented fighters out there, and he will absolutely brutalize Jean Pascal if they rematch.

When you consider that he completely and comprehensively outboxed Glen Johnson in a way that no-one other than a prime Bernard Hopkins managed, and this being a Glen Johnson who has gone on to knock out top 10 ranked lhw Yusaf Mack and top 10 ranked Super Six smw Allan Green, that was an excellent win. Johnson also gave young undefeated Tavoris Cloud a hard battle recently, yet Dawson beat him with ease.

Add that to the fact that Dawson has done what world cruiserweight number 1 Steve Cunningham and top 10 heavyweight Cris Arreola have failed to do, and beaten Tomasz Adamek. In addition to Cunningham and Arreola, Adamek has also beaten Paul Briggs, O'Neil Bell, Johnathon Banks and the massive Michael Grant, yet Dawson beat him easily to take his zero.

At the time I had him high in my rankings, Dawson was undefeated, the undisputed number 1 in the light-heavyweight division, having held the WBC and IBF titles, and had beaten all of the top guys in his weight class (Tarver twice, Johnson twice, Adamek, Harding).


Dawson deserved a high placing, and he will soon have one again because he is a superb talent and will soon vanquish the bad performance against Pascal. :smoke

And I absolutely, 100% stand by that decision. Hopkins-Trinidad was a superb win, there is actually an argument for ranking it even higher than that and having it #1 or #2.

Tito was p4p#2 at the time, he was 40-0(34), and in his last 2 fights he had blown away Fernando Vargas to unify the lmw titles and blown away WBA mw champ William Joppy.

Not only that, but the extremely high quality level of Hopkins's performance just underlined what a sensational win it was.
