I don't want to hear about how many geishas Tyson banged leading up to the fight, or the fact that his corner didn't have an Endswell, or that Kevin Rooney wasn't in his corner, or that Robin Givens stole his *****. Douglas had everything going that night in Tokyo....great jab, great defence, great chin, great motivation (boxing father figure; mother died 20 days before the fight). What other HW champs does he beat THAT NIGHT AND ONLY THAT NIGHT? I say be beats either Klit, Fury, Wilder, Joshua, Holyfield, Forrman, Moorer, Witherspoon, Patterson, Johansson, Braddock, Carnera, Willard. He MAYBE beats Marciano, Walcott, Holmes, Tunney. He DOESN'T beat Ali, Louis, Lewis, Dempsey, Johnson. (I don't care about anyone before Johnson).
He'd be competitive with them all, don't know how many he'd actually beat but give them all a tough fight at the very least. BTW Foreman, Holyfield and Moorer aren't on your list.
Not too many. Besides Mike he really was not a good fighter. Yeah that one night he fought well fast good jab and right hand, knocked down and almost quit, but he was not a great fighter. Potential I suppose. Barkley beat Hearns, but he was not that great either. You can sometimes have a style to beat the man, and not beat many other great or good fighters. It happens. That perfect fit like a key with styles.
Oliver Mccall and Trevor Berbick ( obviously) John Ruiz ? Leon Spinks ? Shannon Briggs? Hasim Rahman? Bonecrusher Smith ? I dont think he's the "WORST" heavyweight champion. But all those guys could beat him as well .it makes for some pretty interesting hypotheticals.
