This is one of my favourite ever punches in boxing. The oponnent throws a right hand, Toney rolls it with his shoulder and uses the momentum to come back with his own right. Who used this move before Toney? Where did he get it from?

Dwight Braxton/Qawi was awesome at it. It's the reason Spinks shelved the right hand as much as he did and threw so many lefts.

Boxing is like math, All this stuff, styles, techniques have been there to be discovered since humans have had arms and legs. There is nothing new in boxing other than rule changes.

Difference between Toney and Floyd was Toney pushed the fight and was offensive with it.

As noted below, boxing or fighting in some form is older than water. That move has been used since who-knows-when.
In a general sense, though, I think Toney took a lot from the great fighters of the 40's and 50's.
Harold Johnson did an awesome version of that particular move.

So you guys that say it's been there from the beginning of boxing can't agree at the opinion that boxing has regressed nowadays???? After all whatever the old timers did the modern fighters can do.... remember it's still man against man with his fists....

He took some of it and perfected it, like the shoulder roll.

The way he schooled Ruiz by spamming this move was beautiful to watch.

This isn't true. Inside fighting is now basically a lost art. And old school boxers had more of a hands low parrying style as opposed to the modern high guard style. Obviously you get exceptions to the rule but to say 'whatever the old timers did the modern fighters can do' is complete bull****.

Can do? No. Could do? Yes.
Those skills take years to learn and perfect.
