Nakatani looked like an amazing body killer against Tsuchiya, remember watching those shots take the fight out of Shuhei. Tanaka and lil Inoue are tipped very highly despite the fact they've both yet to debut. Japanese press very excited about both.
Great thing about Japan is that they don't let their prospects waste years fighting scrubs. The likes of Ioka, Inoue and Tanaka haven't/won't need years to reach the top unlike some fighters in the US who seem to spend ages on the fringe of the action (Gary Russell Jr I'm looking at you)
So annoying to watch a guy like Russell Jr or even Wilder treading water...for years. I understand that they need to make money and set themselves up before they get into a big fight but lets be honest most fighters learn more from a loss. I'd consider Iwasa as one of the worlds best prospects despite the fact he has a "1" in the L column. The western obsession with the "0" is preventing some major guys from making a genuinely memorable legacy for themselves.
Yeah, the Japanese certainly have a reputation for getting guys to the world level quickly. Yaegashi, Nashiro, Watanabe, Kameda, Gushiken and numerous others seemed to know that they'd be wasting time fighting at a domestic level for long. All the best to guys like Yuba who will remain on the domestic scene but it's certainly not something every needs to do.
