Anyone have some news about the Super Featherweight king Takashi Uchiyama? There hasn't been any news about him since he kayoed the hard punching Miura back in January. I'd really love to see him in the ring with one of the top guys in the division. Broner or even a rematch with Salgado who's won a major belt beating Mendez last month.

Also what happened to Chris John's fight with Satoshi Hosono? Not long ago there were an article about them fighting December 31 in Japan. Is this fight still on?

Aoh is fighting the Italian champion Devis Boschiero in japan next month and will have the Japanese Bantamweight champion Shinsuke Yamanaka on the undercard who will take on Mexico's Christian Esquivel in an eliminator for the chance to fight Nonito Donaire (or the loser of Mares/Agbeko who'll likely be put in the top of the WBC ranking) for the WBC belt.

And with Nishioka's fine performance against Marquez, he's put himself in a good position to be the next opponent for Nonito Donaire, which will be one of the biggest fights that can be made in the smaller divisions.

It's exciting times!!! But WHERE ARE YOU UCHIYAMA!?!

Isn't Uchiyama recovering from a hand injury? Either way, don't think he's big in Japan and the names is his division are expensive, so it's harder to come up with something solid. Takashi will soon turn 32 and still only had 17 fight, 4 of them for a world title. Others like contender Kamegai only fight twice a year despite not breaking sweat most of the time. I think it's money/TV date kind of thing, although as said, Takashi picked up some injury.

When Gamboa moves up expect Uchiyama and Aoh among the potential opponents as he's pretty popular in Japan.

And where's Nobuhiro Ishida, healthy, ready to fight and coming off one of the most impressive performances of any fighter this year? Gets the Pirog treatment in America.

HBO should have made a run with Pirog and Ishida. But them on the same card with a known more known boxer(three separate fights) and see how it goes. Both coming off from career defining, brutal upset KO´s. Pirog could pull a little with the WBO title.
    But no... :-(
They still have a chance to do it.
