Guzman is a class above Alex Arthur. In every department he's superior. Alex Arthur is a good fighter and I like him, he's tough and proud as ****, so I dont see him being blown away. I see him losing widely on scorecards, maybe even a shutout. Borderline mismatch.

Wow, your blind nuthugging ass is here now?

I can't wait to see what you're gonna say after Guzman embarasses Arthur in front of thousands of his fans. Arthur has a much weaker chin than anyone Guzman has fought since 2004. He won't be able to deal with any part of Guzman's game and he will be shocked by Guzman's unreal talent from the start (and also his one-punch power), so he's going to get knocked out early. Very early.

This is spot on. Arthur's simply out his depth by the look of things.

Hi peeps, firstly i want to say i dont want to get into a slanging match with anyone, im just here to give my opinion and views. I've been readin these posts with great interest the last couple of days and can c its gettin hot in ere!! I have known Arthur for a very long time and also trained with him for a couple of his recent fights ( i am also an Edinburgh man ). I think hes a very nice guy but have also started seeing a very arrogant side to him recently, i have always wished him the best and have been at every single one of his fights. Why i mention this arrogance, because that is what undone him against Gomez, it had really gotten to his head around that time that he was unbeatable, but all proper boxing fans knew Gomez wasnt finished! I now see a re run of this with him calling Guzman a chicken and no balls which has obviously riled Guzman. Now as far as preperations going, i read in the local Edinburgh Evening news that Arthur was going down to have crunch talks with Warren (promoter) about where the fight is gonna be, when its happening, and how much hes getting paid, all this because he cant fully concentrate on his training till he knows, hes fighting Guzman for the title what else matters he shouldnt be worried about these three factors at all if hes having problems about gettin up for this fight he needs to forget about it.
Then he says hes goin to cyprus to train, then changes to Las Vegas drops his old team and jets off, That i beleive will be his downfall, he has never had a consistent enough training team and is always switching things about, he never seems to be happy and maybe thinks a bigger name like Wayne Mcullough will help him win. Guzman on the other hand is class, thats my opinion, why?? watch the videos....look how skilfull he is, even if he hasnt fought many names, who has Arthur fought?? Guzmans definately been in better company and fought on bigger cards. Guzmans footwork, defensive skills, speed, counter punching, and also snap in his punches anyone who says he aint got power just dont know, Arthur is a very slow starter, doesnt have great footwork and recentley his defence has been non existent, no head movement and he also drops his right hand a lot. I hope its a good fight i will be ringside hoping Arthur somehow finds a way to win but my heart completely says Guzman is gonna cut him up and snap that neck back making him look really ordinary and silly, Tell me a fight when Arthur has looked good? He should be puttin these Fosters away early not going 12 rounds and gettin dropped by someone who has just come up to the weight, Im sorry i have went on for so long but i had to get this off my chest, nuff respect to you all and chill with the hating were all from the same line us fighters and anyone who gets between them ropes deserves respect. Take care and God bless

    That's a fair enough post.

The bit I highlighted is the thing that's always got me with arthur. IMO he should never have left Peter Harrison.

I'm on the periphary of boxing now but don't really recognise many of Guzman's opponents and his record of stopages since stepping up has, frankly, been shite. He's as over-hyped as Jeff Lacy was and people go on like it's the second coming of christ. bollocks to that.

For someone to say it's a borderline mismatch is ridiculous given what arthur has won over the years. He is not a novice pro and is obviously confident of winning.

    Tell me about it!
The Guzmanmania has gotten so out of control Im not even wasting my breath anymore discussing the fight properly. Its went way beyond that, so Im just sitting back & enjoying the ride, & the crazy thing is the Guzmania is snowballing by the day, legions of newbs, guys from the general forums are all coming in worshipping Guzman as the next coming of Sugar Ray Robinson, & its frankly baffling.

Its going to be fun being smug in here after the event, a whole lot of fun in fact for the small band of brothers that are picking Arthur to cause the upset.

Dunky, that is a cop out!:nono

I'm not falling for the Guzmania. Please discuss the fight with me, properly. :thumbsup

I have never seen AA, and I would like to read from you why you think he has what it takes to beat Guzman. If you could provide some video links on top of that, I'd be most grateful.:good

Are you serious Decebal when you say you havent seen Alex Arthur fight? & its not a loaded question btw, just an honest one. . However, the reason Arthur footage is few & far between is cos its all been wiped by SN sadly enough.

Yes, I am serious. I'm new to boxing and unless I can get a video of a fight, I don't know how these guys fight. I've seen 2-3 full fights of Guzman and plenty of footage, though.

And yeah! I'd like you to debate thi fight with me and if you can, to send me a video link to Arthur fighting, please!:good

I saw Alex Arthur fight Willie Limond and Michael Gomez, and he looked good but unspectacular. He's a solid, top 20 super-featherweight.

Joan Guzman IS spectacular. He's one of the most talented young fighters in the world. He is just too much for Alex Arthur.
