Odds on bet365 Joan Guzman 1.11 v Alex Arthur 6.00 - how much money are you putting on this, Dunky?

    Over 9.5 - 2.10

    Under 9.5 - 1.66

So...the bookies like Guzman by stoppage!

Smithy, I was only going if it was going to be at the Braehead, as originally planned. I will be watching on TV, as I cant be arsed trying to get back from Edinburgh to Glasgow in the wee sma' hours, its bad enough trying to get back to my house from the Braehead! As me & my mates like to have a swally at the boxing, we dont have our own transport. & as there is no bar in the meadowbank arena, thats even worse! So a night in with the beers at my mates house cheering Arthur onto victory, thats my plan:smoke

    We had a bet?:huh
If i remember correctly I didnt take you up on your bet cos it was a stupid one. You change your avatar forever if Arthur wins? Im sure thats what you said & I firmly believe you would never keep to that. No proud poster would.

So I had an avatar bet with someone else. However, if Guzman wins(well, you never know, it is boxing after all & anything can hppen) then I will make a public apology on this forum to Joan Guzman for all my insults aimed at the dominican dickhead, & give him my respect like you just asked. See? I aim to keep everyone happy.
Remember. All I wanted from you was a promise you will be here when Arthur wins so I can have my last laugh.

& Im pretty sure I will have my last laugh. & its going to be a big guffaw, cos ESB brit forum in the main has turned their back on Alex & have hardly even wished the scotsman good luck. Unlike Hatton & Calzaghe when they had their superfights.

Thats gonna make Arthurs victory even sweeter for us small bunch that has picked Arthur to win... & we wont hold back. Be warned.

    Yes, we had a bet:

If you want to back out now, then back out and make it clear. 6 months for you, 3 years for me if you want a specific amount of time instead of "forever". If some miracle happens and Arthur accidentally wins, then afterwards I refuse to wear your avatar, the mods could ban me and I won't complain.

I guess you're not so confident in him. But I don't blame you, if I was a big Arthur fan I would have nightmares about Joan Guzman every night. Only 10 days left until you have to apologize!

nah, we didnt have a bet. I clearly remember not believing you would take such a harsh bet on, & I pitied you & let you off. However, if you want to go ahead with this bet then fair enough, no man calls me a liar here. This is my neck of the woods, my turf if you like.

So now I have to tell China hand Joe I will have to cancel our little avatar wager, & I look forward to watching you crumble before me.

Why would I back out from a bet when Im backing the big punching natural super-feather against a jumped up super-bantamweight with no punch? it makes no sense.

Just make sure you are here to take your medicine. Cos when Arthur wins, you better open wide. & I dont mean your ass cheeks. I mean your mouth.

That's hardly fair. I think the majority of the Brit forum, myself included, would like to see Arthur win for the good of the sport on these Isles (even though you would be unbearable for about two months afterwards Dunky :nut ). The fact that I don't honestly pick him to win should not be confused with not wanting to see him do so, hell I was exactly the same on Hatton-Mayweather.

I would love it if that were true TKO. However, when I see englanders & welshies skulking about the general forum smugly predicting doom for Arthur & siding with the americanos about how Guzman is gonna destroy Arthur?
Forgive me for not buying it although I believe YOUR heart is in the right place TKO after reading your post.

I like Alex Arthur he seems like a down to earth guy, but i think his chances are a bit over-hyped by some. Guzman is faster, stronger, he knows more and he's been in with much better opposition. No offence intended to Alex or his fans but i can see him getting knocked out in devasting fashion just like the Michael Gomez fight.

arthur can't deal with guys who throw alot of punches in flurries, remember the russian he fought just after burns that he got a few cuts in ? arthur got his a **** load. He's also a bit predictable. He also looked dead at the weight in his last fight.

Good points - body shots can hurt anyone, brilliant jab and combinations.

Guzman - bad points - lacks concentration and if hes in charge tends to **** about throwing slaps and pitter pat punches.easy to hit

Good points - great speed, combinations, footwork.

I can\t see arthur winning it as his defense will let him down i think but im 100 per cent behind him and i dont understand scots who want him to get beat, who else have we got??
