The Joe Calzaghe Deception, the night Bernard Hopkins was robbed

Was not a robbery. Was a close fight that Calzaghe won clearly. Should not have even been a split decision. Hopkins did nothing but hold and fake low blows after the first few rounds. A rematch Joe would have won even more clearly after figuring hopkins out.

 

It's quite hard when the idiot who made the video interrupts the action every 5 seconds.

He got it right about the two body shots, but that was about it. It was Hopkins who was the one holding after Calzaghe's first little flurry.

I'll rewatch this bout later, but not this crappy, very biased looking version.

 

Clear win for Calzaghe as he made Hopkins hold look for time out, stop throwing punches, and slapped Hopkins around. It was only a SD because the one bias judge scored round 11 for Hopkins a round Calzaghe clearly won.
Just a point. On the official scorecards Taylor finished 6 points above Hopkins in his 2 fights combined. Calzaghe finished 7 points higher than Hopkins in his 1 fight with him.
I notice there isnt as many posts about Taylor beating Hopkins, yet people cant accept Joe won.

8-4 Calzaghe, 1 extra point to Hopkins for the knockdown, and that is being generous

Everytime this fight is mentioned some one has to say "Prime Bhop blah blah".

yet these same people forget Bhop became better with experience. A 'prime' Bhop ducked Joe. A 'prime' Bhop didn't have the ring experience of today's Bhop so how would he have the experience to beat Joe's style? The Calzaghe that beat Lacy would embarass the non safety non cheating Bhop that simply out slicked Tito. As soon as Joe started throwing he wouldn't have the experience to 'cheat' so would get out boxed.

Joe's prime was Lacy. Pick a fight where Bhop peaked THEN compare them. (and if you tell me it was vs that 1 dimensional -

Joe's prime was before Lacy. He already had hand problems in that fight. You are right in the fact that a prime Joe, would have beat any version of Hopkins worse than he actually did.

 

I thought calfaggi won but to me it looked like certainly Hopkins could have had the fight if he would have let his hands go. Every time he did he easily outlanded calzaghe, calzaghe just stole the rounds with his ***gy arm punch flurries

 

I'm a big fan of Hopkins and really dislike Calzaghe but I thought Calzaghe won. I gave Hopkins only 3 rounds.

 

I don't get it. Most people on here thought Kotelnik beat Devon for "landing the better punches" yet Hopkins clearly landed the better punches against Calzaghe but still most give Joe the fight. I don't see how anyone could give Joe the fight if they score on effectiveness in the same logic they scored the Alexander/Kotelnik fight. Guess people love ineffective flurries when Joe throws them lol. Not bashing Joe Calzaghe at all I actually have no problem with him but still if you judge based on effectiveness I don't see how you can score it for Calzaghe. TBH, a draw sounds right since there's always debate/controversy on this fight.

 

I been thinking about doing these kind of videos for the Pac/JMM fights the other year ago but didnt cause you know....i have a life and all.
