Touche, guys. Y'all are alright with me but Hopkins did mix it up a few times as the video showed. It also showed Calzaghe clocking Hopkins & the guy who made the video admitting Calzaghe won rounds & landed clean shots. I'm a big Hopkins fan but if you judge fights on activity you have to give it to Calzaghe though on effectiveness that favors Hopkins. BTW, Calzaghe isn't as bad as people made him but I just don't find his style pleasing. Plus Hopkins did hold him "all night" he got in some shots of his own but they were far inbetween. I scored the fight to Hops but I can't deny what Calzaghe has accomplished he really is a great fighter no one can take that away for him. Great resume or not you don't suck if you go 46-0-0 and it's not like he fought all bums either. There, I said it:D.

The video maker does recognize calzaghe he doesnt just give hopkins every round. So he should be counting shots that dont land? Defense factors into scoring as well everytime they mixed it up in that video hopkins got the best of it and calzaghe would turn his back to bernard and cover up and the ref would step in. Holding is a part of boxing Bernard being the older man thats his game plan against the younger faster fighter counter right hand hold mess up his rhythm calzaghe was so frustrated by bernards defense he started slapping calzaghe can drop solid blows but because of bernards d and ring iq he wasnt able to settle and get off the old man fought his fight.

Calzaghe was holding in the fight as well giving bernard lowblows everytime cal would come in bernard sting him with a right calzaghe would bucklelittle bit and tie bernard up so they were both holding in the fight as far as im concerned.

You're right especially with the holding being apart of the game. Especially with fights like Mosley-Margarito & Holyfield-Tyson 1. I don't see why lots of people call Hopkins boring he's a genius in the ring & very skillful. Many purists such as I love him. People forget, in his prime he was exciting and looked to bust people up but after the Joppy fight he was prone to go to decisions so his style adapted to that more. Still he toke Tarver & Pavlik to school even if those fights went the distance and made Calzaghe look pretty bad. Hell even pre-prime he still put in a good effort against a prime Jones though Roy had a bad hand problem.

Exactly man they sound like the TYson fans complaining and wont give evander ne credit for beating tyson because oo evander headbutts and he holds Evander fights inside hes a smart technical fighter whose advantage is inside he and bernard get the same critisisms.

Yeah he was exciting and was really the executioner back then now becauseof his age he has to be the decisioner lol he had good handspeed BUT if he and roy rematched Bernard would use those tactics against roy because roys got faster hands and more gifted atheletically so bernard would do whatever he could to neutralize Roys attributes just like how he tried to neutralize joes fast hands.

I'm a Tyson fan and used to act like how you said then I realised some fighters I liked weren't always so clean themselves so I didn't want to be hypocritical. I'm still not a Evander fan but I respect what he's done and he gave some fighters I'm a fan of good fights(Tyson,Qawi,Holmes). Hope he retires soon he's a lock for the HOF especially for being an ATG.

    Lol, Hopkins is an opportunist.

Lol, "The Decisioner". He was exciting in his day and it scares me that people forget that. People like timeout sound stupid when they say stuff like, "Hopkins has produced nothing but 20 years of **** fights". I wish he understands how ignorant he sounds lol. He doesn't even know Hopkins used to be exciting:rofl.

    Joe was the Winner

it may not be a CLEAR WIN

but he did enough to score those points

too much Drama / Bad acting / inactivity cost B-Hop the Fight

    even B-Hop Himself agrees

Calzaghes a good fighter but he isnt in same league as prime roy and aprime hopkins who were the primary standouts of this era of boxing outside of Lennox Lewis. Lennox actually came over to the us and chased riddick bowe evander and beat all them "yanks" Calzaghe never did so he dwelled in the uk.

Lewis was great and after he retired I felt he was getting the respect he deserved. I think the Klitschkos will too but no offense, I'd rather watch Lennox Lewis fight. His scrap with Mercer was great. You're right, clueless people can say what they want but fans that actually follow the sport and know what they're talking about for the most part are the best kind of people to have debates with.

lol i like the klitchkos tihnk im one of the few americans that does. Vitali was a monster coming up 92 percent knockout ratio very skilled scientific boxer like Liston was not sayin hes as good but in that sense he reminds me a bit of him in that sense and hes a 6 foot 6 superheavyweight to top that off. His brother wlad beautiful footwork moves really well i didnt know bout him years ago but hes come along when he began his reign he was little bit too cautius seen him dominate a fight with a damn jab lol then as u can see once he started putting a little something behind the jab hes knocking everyone out left and right.

Vitali was unfortunate felt at his peak he was better than wlad is now but he woundup getting that damn injury before the rahman fight and pretty much got robbed of his prime the injury was pretty serious they plagued his whole career it seemed but i wish they would still fight eachother Vitalis still a great fighter which speaks volumes about him not easy to come off that many injurys.
