I agree with this for the most part, I too hate when Joe showboats and follows it up with a few pitty pats, it just looks silly.

isnt it funny most board member would rather tear their hair out quoting idiotic posts and offering up even more idiotic replies than acknolwedging great posts like this. that post was tribute to common sense and a breath of fresh air. bump.

Ive learned after yrs of watching boxing not to let showboating affect me 1 way or another.... a fighter can do what he likes & if the opponent doesnt like it then use his fists to stop it... end of.

Also... Calzaghe is an ATG fighter, to call him simply a good fighter is either biased or unrealistic IMO.

Ps. I would rank Jones ahead of Calzaghe & probably pick him in a primes H2H match but I would rank JC ahead of Hopkins & always pick JC over Hopkins in a prime H2H match.... both fights would not be easy for the winner as all 3 are ATGs.

    one name 'frank warren'.
and title unbiased i think, lets just say im glad you put i think, because biased is an understatement.
stop dwelling in the past and concentrate on what he is achieveing now.
and dont me give crap about 'he is fighting old men 'as they are more his age than most boxers out there, and he beat a young and hungry kessler and lacy.

I don't know you this can be justified given that Calzaghe only got a slight decision over the 43 yo version and only won the fight when Hopkins stoped fighting. Surely it's quite natural extrapolation that a younger, fitter B Hop will win. Can't believe people buy into this absure notion that Hopkins has somehow entered into his prime as he's become oficially middle aged. He cartainly has retained his force well but he is not an organism that defies the aging process.

I agree with everything you said. Except like the posters above me, I also consider Joe a great fighter, though not as great as Hopkins and Jones

    also i don't give a **** about the showboating.

Hatton was with Warren when he got Tszyu in the ring, plus Joe wasn't as outspoken about fighting big names until much further into his career. He only just left Warren this year when Hatton dumped him years ago. The promoter can't take all the blame.

Don't give you crap? Jones wasn't just old he had been knocked into the middle of next week twice! Joe is two or three years removed from his prime whereas Jones can't find his in his rear view mirror.

Both the Lacy and Kessler wins were impressive and I acknowledged both, unless you can quote me otherwise!

    Sorry if I upset you!
