Cortez has Never been a good ref . He's too egotistical and incompetant like tonight.
The way Kiser and Cortez where whispering the whole thing has started to stink

I'm of dominican descent just like lorenzo and i was pulling for him.....but he was getting his **** pushed in and he was getting KO'D and for him to be awarded the victory is a disgrace.....The rematch will happen and Soto will get his belt.

Oh and I lost all my respect for cortez....he was great in the mid nineties but now he's absolutely horrible.

 

Looked like Emanuel Steward wanted to get in there and whoop his ass, judging from his reaction.

That was the worst officiating I have ever seen in any sport by a long shot.

That was a disgrace to the sport, **** retirement, he should be run out.

Damn Manny was pissed, and rightfully so, but still I wouldn't expect that kind of reaction by someone who is uninvolved

 

Yeah, he was very pissed. "I promised my children I wouldn't cuss on the air anymore, but I think I might have to soon."

Everything about that was wrong. I don't think for a second Cortez was on the take, I just think he's hella old and completely incompetent at this point. I can take a ref making a wrong call. But he didn't even make a call, he just stood around befuddled, AFTER stopping the action for seemingly no reason except thinking he was supposed to be doing something, then cluelessly looking to other's for their take on the situation. Like he forget he was supposed to be in charge, wandering around as if to say, "what do I do? Any ideas??"

Time for that old man to take his Geritol and get the hell on. His blatant incompetence has adversely effected Soto's career, and this is proof that he has to be removed from the system. If he refuses to acknowledge his inability to control or even comprehend a boxing match, someone in power needs to step in and no longer allow him to ref important fights.

 

He's had a great career,but he should quit now.He's not the same referee he once was.
