Joe Louis held the lineal heavyweight title for twelve years.

He was preceded by the champions of the early 30s, and succeeded by the champions of the early 50s!

One consequence of his dominance, is that we almost certainly lost a few additional lineal champions.

    Who would they have been?

Braddock would've reigned for a few more years. Imo he would've beaten Schmeling at that point as well as the top contenders like Galento and Pastor

An older Braddock losses the title to Arturo Godoy via UD. Godoy beats Simon, McCoy and Buddy Bear in title defenses.

Godoy is UD'd by Billy Conn. Conn outpoints Nova and Buddy Baer in his subsequent title defenses. Conn then enlists in the military. Conn, upon his comeback, losses the title to Jersey Joe Walcott.

Walcott defends his title again Conn and losses it to Ezzard Charles. The timeline then returns to normal

    Interesting one.

I've probably missed a few, but doing tiers of likeliness (top being the most likely but not certain), and including people who were champs who I think likely would be in this timeframe
    Tier 1
    Billy Conn, Buddy Baer
    Tier 2
    Max Schmeling, Jersey Joe Walcott
    Tier 3
    Abe Simon, Max Baer

I don't know much about Godoy, but he has a patchy reocrd. Could you explain why you pick him to beat Simon and Baer in title defences? (Not disagreeing, I'm legit curious as I don't know much about Godoy)

Godoy had a better performance against Louis than both, and Simon's record is just as patchy if not moreso. Godoy is a bad matchup for Buddy Baer imo, Godoy's chin can take what Baer dishes out

Edit: I meant to say Simon
