1. The lineal, WBC and WBA champion (Mayweather) has only ever fought at 154 twice, once over 3 years ago and once over 8 years ago. He hasn’t defended any of his titles there for almost 2 years (which was at a catchweight). 2. The man ranked no. 1 contender by WBC and WBO (Alvarez) hasn’t fought at the 154 limit for over 2 years. 3. Probably the best 154 fighter (Cotto) currently holds the 160 title hostage, but doesn't actually fight at the 160 limit. 4. Probably the second best 154 fighter (Lara) everyone agrees is pretty good, but he’s boring as **** as basically his own worst enemy in progressing his career. 5. The WBO champ Andrade was looking like a good fighter if not a superstar, but hasn’t defended in over a year. His last defence was against Brian Rose who was TKO1 by Carson Jones. Where is he??? 6. The IBF currently ranks Charlo at no. 1 and no. 2. How does that work???
Its just a catchweight division anyhow. A division for young guys still growing into MW, or just people who cant make 147 but are scared of 160. The division really shouldn't have even been created.
Good post. 154 is currently a shambles. A shame as it has some quality fighters there. This Andrande situation is baffling
They're known as the charlo brothers both born may 19, 1990 worse part is most fans wouldn't even know them if they seen them fighting on tv
