No, you said he demanded it, clearly implying that he literally wanted $100m or no fight. If that was the case Roy and Lewis would never have spoke, and he'd never have met a Tyson face to face.

James Toney was a bigger name and a better fighter for Roy to go after in 94. Period.

Harding and Del Valle were also southpaws naturally larger and taller than Jones i believe. And you are right, Roy wanted to fight Liles... People build up these opinions based on myths and they hold no weight.

If you want to see someone that didn't want to fight southpaws, you need to look no further than Joe Calzaghe.. Rico always seems to give him a pass too, just like he argued why V. Klit wasn't a steroid cheat even though he failed a test for a banned substance.

    And?

The problem with guys like you, is that you only ever look from the perspective of Roy's opponents.

You and most of the guys on this thread, have never looked from Roy's.

    This is what Zod does.

Roy turned down Nunn from 97-99.

    So what?

In that time frame, Nunn lost to Roch, and Roy picked up the WBA belt, the IBF belt, a Rolls Royce Corniche, and made $3m from the Hill fight etc.

    Boxing's a business.

    These jokers never stop.

Let's be real Mind, and put this nonsense to bed.

    Let's look at things logically.

The same guy that fought Hopkins, Toney, Ruiz, Tarver, Calzaghe, and offered to fight Liles etc, was scared of Nunn and Collins?

    Yeah right.

I grew up watching Collins, I watched the Benn and Eubanks fights in a pub with my father. He was a hero of mine, but even I realize that Jones would have beaten him.

People say Jones ducked him after the Frazier fight, when Collins got in the ring.
At that point Collins had been retired 2 years and had never even fought at 175.

Jones then went on to fight the LHW champ Reggie Johnson, who was obviously active AND who had a victory over Collins.

Yet people say he was afraid of Collins?

That's because people on here are ignorant.

    ESB logic - If a fighter doesn't fight someone = They're scared.

Would he really have fought Ruiz, Tarver and Calzaghe, in his mid to late 30's, if he'd have been scared of Steve Collins at 27?

    No.
