MR I understand your point but do you know who DM beat for those belts? And who Roy ended up beating for those vacant belts? It matters......

Not saying I 100% disagree with you but it shows a pattern :good

DM beat The Man Virgil Hill... DM was lineal, I am not arguing that at all... But there are special occasions where the man in the weight isn't the lineal champ... Just as I didn't consider Gonzalez the man after he beat DM, but he was lineal. I also considered Calzaghe the man at LHW after beating Hopkins, though technically the whole time Erdei was the lineal champ.:good

    We know all about that.

But the best fighter on the planet wasn't going to travel to Germany.

Can you imagine someone like Floyd getting on a plane and travelling to Germany?

I would be very quick to call Floyd Mayweather the man in a division when he moves up and collects all the major belts, rightfully stripped or not.:yep

Especially when the ring magazine brought the belt back, when you look at who DM and Roy were fighting in terms of top ranked fighters in the division, it is easy to see for me why they made Roy the Champ.

We know what happened with Dariusz and Hill, but like you've said, if you compare their competition, it's clear who the man was.

He refused to give a test for the Harding fight.

If he really put on more than 6 lbs of muscle for the Ruiz fight in 6 weeks then he was using there as well.

They why bother mention it at all then?

These are the sort of opinions you need scientific evidence for. What is your opinion here based on?
That's a poor argument. Plenty of fighters have moved to weight classes they thought they would be okay in. Morales in the last 2 pac fights and look how that turned out.

Plenty of bad decisions looked like good decisions when they were made
Chad was moving down to a division he had outgrown. He had not fought there for over 5 years. Jones did not outgrow the lhw division. It's not the same thing.

What scientific evidence do you have for this? Was Michael Spinks doping too when Mackie Shilstone helped him pack on muscle to fight at HW?

He didn't refuse he never even got the chance which is what made it so comical. They were immediately stripped :rofl:patsch

Im 45 and have followed boxing very closely my entire life. I remember watching Ali-Spinks 2. Hagler-Vito 1, etc. Not saying im an expert but I have seen every great fighter of the last 35 years.

Of all the fighters ive seen, PRIME Roy Jones Jr. was the best. Not close.
