Why are half of the posters in this thread 'booted'?

I've got Hughie by UD but expect a close fight. I like Parker but see him as very basic, the poster above mentions him being overrated but after his last bout I don't think that is the case anymore, apart from by his fellow kiwis of course.
I am looking forward to this fight and just hope we get a good one without controversy. Both are respectful and polite young guys with potential to become major players in the division over the next decade, may the best man win.

I've got Parker to win, but it's the type of fight where a good gameplan could swing it for either man. Fury has the height and the skills to make things awkward for Parker, but he hasn't really been tested yet or put under sustained fire. Parker's fought the better opponents but hasn't looked brilliant doing so, though on the plus side he's always found a way to win. He's a bit more of a known quantity in other words.

A lot of posters seem to point to the Cojanu fight as evidence for why Hughie will win, but this is a bit baffling to me since Cojanu fought to survive and got completely outclassed on the cards. He doesn't provide any sort of gameplan for how Hughie might win the fight, only how he might make things awkward and embarrassing for Parker, which isn't the same of a win. He'll need to fight his own fight to take it on the cards and that means establishing his jab and using angles to keep Parker from coming forward. It's feasible, but Parker isn't quite so basic and clueless as people think, and has the power edge to turn things around in an instant. Hughie will need to remain disciplined all night.

I expect Parker to win and he looks the better fighter. But is a lot of uncertainty with Hughie no one knows how good he really is.

Fury either fails the PED test or pulls out of the fight.

i think you must take into consideration the quality of sparring partner fury got .
if you got regular sessions with any top fighter its an edge.
i believe fury will win comfortable and keep climbing, he may struggle with the bigger punchers like joshua,

I will predict that Fury's corner will have to stop the fight late after he is battered and too far behind. . . .The fact that Parker will be able to determine that Hughie has no power will allow Joseph to walk in and establish his game.

I find it strange that no one has much faith in either fighter's skill set and abilities. One is a World champion and the other is an undefeated top contender. Both have glaring deficiencies that make it hard to believe that we are actually talking about world class high calibre fighters.

Fury hasn't fought for well over a year and so Parker should be considered the betting favorite in this fight. But Fury can box well at range, and we have no real idea if Parker can catch up with anybody who can use their feet to avoid punches.

I hate to say this, but this could be the biggest borefest of either mens career. These two styles wont mesh well i would say, and the will be the biggest problem for both men.

I'm not sure that ring rust will be a factor in this fight for Fury, because I can't see this fight being fought with any more intensity or pace than a regular sparring session.

A bore of a draw is on the cards here folks.

Fury is not only the taller man with the reach advantage, but he has very good movement too with a decent jab. He doesn't have a high KO % much like his cousin because they don't plant their feet to avoid the counter, they prefer to flick out the jab and slap with their punches.

So Parker has got to somehow work his way inside/around the jab to land and he's got to get there quick enough to catch Hughie...I don't think he'll do it.

    And the new...

    good post
i like reading posts when posters take time to give there reasoning behind there picks and not just the 90% of 1 liner reasoning i read.

i agree with your conclusions not much to add just the fact that parker has been active while fury has had so long out of the ring means there is unknowns to the fight that are hard to account for.

    but thats why we watch.
