Non of them fighters are Journeymen.

Calling him a journeyman, clearly shows a lack of understanding of the term

Sokolowski clearly was, lorry driver fighting for extra money. He's better than his record suggests but is the epitome of a journeyman.

 

Journeymen are critical to the sport and vital to fighters development.....or they make ideal opponents for Tyson Fury. Even when he is the WBC champion he still gives them shots. What a charitable man!

 

I'd class him more as a gatekeeper.
Journeyman for me are fighting far more regular than 4 times a year, they don't get chance to do camps for opponents because they fight that frequently. Sokol usually has plenty of notice for fights and only takes t.v fights you wouldnt see him out in Bolton on steve woods show then the week after on steffys show in Doncaster whereas JM are out on the small halls taking as many fights as they see right for them. They are the guys the novice fighters go to whereas Sokolowski is seen as someone you need to beat if you want to get to British lvl.
Journeymen and gatekeepers both deliver different roles to the sport. Sokolowski is a gatekeeper imo. And also, most fighters are working a job too, lorry driving, bricklaying, warehouse labouring, most of the home fighters/prospects and contenders are working too
