No it isn't, Ward only clearly won one round. He made a few rounds close with some effective bodypunching and counters but he was outworked and outlanded in just about every round before the 8th.
No, you just have a difference of opinion. I don't think Ward got dominated, he just didn't win any clear rounds except 1 before the 8th. Kovalev did enough behind his jab and superior output to secure the closer rounds.
I had Ward up with 1 point. Round 1 Kova Round 2 Kova Round 3 Ward Round 4 Ward Round 5 Ward Round 6 Kova Round 7 Ward I think rounds 1-3 where really close and hard to judge. Neither guys did much. Ward had the more eye catching effective shots but wasn't throwing as much of a volume compared to Sergei. So depends on what you are looking for.
In the 19 rounds that Kovalev and Ward have fought, the only man who went down (like a sack of potatoes) is Andre Ward. So if you think Kovalev has a glass jaw, what do you think Ward's chin is made of?
No. I think you should watch that fight again and reevaluate how you score fights. Just by going through the RBR on ESB you can see you are a bit off there. At worst, Ward won only two rounds.
The rounds were tight and difficult to score but Ward was the one imposing his will. Kovalev was made to miss a lot and was hit a lot more than he ever has been to the body and head and he was gassing. He started looking for a way out.
