The weight limit for the boxing class is 148-154 lbs.

Anything that falls between 148 lb and 154 lbs is the super welterweight limit.

Please respect all fighter that are dedicated to make this weight and don't blow it on the scales.

Please respect all fighters if fighter (a) weights 148 lbs and fighter (b) weights 152 lbs....this is still within the junior middle division.

This has been the rules for this particular weight class since 1962.....1962.

We must all learn to live with this and respect it.

Its kind of absurd fighting for 154lbs titles when one can only weigh in at 152lbs.

I hate catchweights and will always hate them. This fight shouldn't be for the 154lbs titles unless they can weigh in at that weight.

Does 2 pound really make a difference for Mayweather? I don't see the point of it other then trying to hinder Canelos health.

Thats all it is, a way for people to attack mayweather, why does he always do this ****...

he could have just made it 154 and agreed to it, no rematch clause...

    No HATE

    that simple.

I hope canelo still comes in at 153-154

some of these people are crazy and dont know the rules. Juinor middle weight is 148-154, they can way any weight they want. 152 got the fight done. Canelo just came in 153 against Trout and hes 22 yrs old this is good

The division is JMW. The limit is 154, meaning it can't be a JMW fight if be fighters weigh more than 154. Mayweather vs Canelo, by rule, is a JMW. By rule, I believe, the ABC belts have to be on the line.

Absolutely this. I'll still watch the fight but it definitely hurts the value of a win and makes Floyd look like an idiot after ripping apart catchweights.

Mayweather has pointed out in the past , that its not a real victory in a catch weight fight.

This is what FLOYD has said.

I'm just agreeing with the man.

    Drain em

If floyd mayweather showed up for the gurerro fight and was 120lbs on the scales - that is no issue

he can show up wearing clothes if he likes, it doesnt matter, there is a maximum you can weigh, not a minimum

Likewise to fight for the 105 title , both boxers must be 105 or less :good
