Paulino down! Appeared to be slowing notably before the knockdown...and it's over! A second come from behind victory for Eto this year

Eto has swag, too. He was taunting Paulino to get up.

I will say, fight shouldn't have been stopped... he beat the count.

And Paulino was clearly winning the round too, before the assault leading to the body shot.

Yeah, I thought he beat the count too, but Paulino should've gotten up at 8 at least to prevent **** like that

Diale-Paulino II anybody? Two guys that were clearly beating Eto, only to get stopped late.

I'll put up the open scoring details when I get them, the question mark was Paulino's stamina, one of the papers reported he was running out of steam against Diale in the later rounds there too before taking a monster shot from his compatriot

    Strange fight. Impressive comeback.

Up until that point I had Paulino up 5-4 in rounds won. But in reality, each of the rounds he won were clear while each of the rounds Eto won I particularly felt were razor close.

    Good stuff.

I'm satisfied. And impressed with both. Give me more!!! I tell you what, I thought for sure we were going to have an upset (or dodgy decision) on our hands. Through 7 rounds, I was like... "uhhhh. sh!t."

I'll watch that Eto/Diale fight sometime soon and get back to you with my thoughts.

    After 4 rounds-
    38-38,39-37 × 2 was Eto

    After 8 rounds-
79-73,77-75,78-74 (I assume to Eto given the cards after 4 rounds)

Eto said he wanted a world title fight next year and is likely to give up the OPBF belt

79-73 is one of the most ridiculous cards I've seen so far this year if that was for Koki v_v

    Absolutely.

There is no way in hell that you can give Eto 6 of the first 8 rounds. No way. Paulino won 4 of those rounds quite clearly (3, 5, 6, 7 IIRC)...

And Eto would be a worthy title challenger for anyone out there, I guess. But there are bigger and better things for Roman and Estrada... Hopefully he means the IBO belt. I'd love to see Mthalane and his often "hunched stance" with that great jab and strong physique battle against Eto. And Ruenroeng's awkwardness against Eto would be interesting as well.

Top 10 Flyweight vs. Eto sometime next year; I'm down.

Japanese Boxing Commission only recognise the big 4 so it's VERY unlikely he'd even think about the IBO belt, could be a stay busy one for Roman before the mooted Inoue bout at the end of the year, Estrada would likely enjoy staying busy as well. An "easy" defense for either that could be used to help set up a bigger bout in Japan

    Yeah true that.

I forgot the IBO isn't recognized. And the WBO and IBF just got recognized, what, 1 or 2 years ago? Do you know why that was? I don't get it. The JBC seems to be quite strange sometimes (not necessarily bad at all, just odd)...

And while I like Eto (that Porpramook fight that I was lucky enough to randomly tune in for was a *******), I don't give him much of a chance at all of beating any of the top 10-ish guys at Flyweight. Still he is a worthy opponent to me, being realistic.

Roman apparently is having his next defense in Nicaragua early next year from what I read.
