I hope he gets to work and gets a fight scheduled for early 2012, it will be interesting to see if he's still got it and is hungry for it.

i can say that earning more during early part of his career made him lose his passion to train hard and disciplined.

    just like hamed

Well, Kelly's been through hell and back with his alcohol abuse, people need to encourage him, not tell him what he already knows. :good

Kelly Pavlik is a great natural fighter, I hope he finds his hunger for the sport again with a new trainer and a new location.

What does not kill you makes you stronger. All Pavlik has to do now is exercise some of his toghness and determanation which he has in spades and he can go to the top again.

    :good

I think changing location can get the old Pavlik back, a change of scene and new faces who will encourage him to do the right thing.
Lets all hope he comes back strong as ever.

Is he waiting til after the holidays to go to California? If so, it'll probably be til spring before he fights. He will be on top again! Go Pavlik.

I think he needs to drop down to middleweight. Never been a big fan and I do honestly think the likes of Dirrell, ward, froch, Kessler and bute would probably beat him however at middleweight he has fights that are easily winnable like jcc jnr and I think strum is definitely a winnable fight for him.

I am a huge Pavlik fan but if he doesn't get himself together then he should just retire, If he is back to normal then that is great, He is only 29 I think, He has years left.

EDIT: BTW, What division will he fight in when he comes back? I think Middleweight is best for him.

There has been so much revisionist history surrounding Kelly Pavlik, Jermain Taylor, and Edison Miranda that the other day I watched a bunch of their fights back to back just to see if my memory was accurate. The thing that struck me was how ****ing good Kelly and Jermain were, and what a monster Miranda was.

Rumour has it that KP will try to make 160 with Conte's help. I want him to fight at 160 because I am convinced that a healthy, focused and determined, KP knocks Martinez out in the middle rounds.

However, I adamantly disagree with those who claim Pav can't succeed at 168. When the weight problems got bad I went back and looked at some pics and vid to see what I might learn. In my opinion KP has been at least somewhat weight drained since 2006. The kid is 6' 3" and walks around at about 190.

One of the unexpected results of the Super-Six is that the participants are seriously over rated. They're all good, but not great. Pavlik, in top form, would fit right in at 168, and be a threat to anyone in the division. People seem to forget that Hopkins and Wright could not beat Jermain Taylor. Pavlik beat Taylor twice. That single fact says, "Kelly Pavlik in top form is one hell of a fighter."

I'm still a bit skeptical about a come back, but a fired up KP is good for boxing, and that is great for the fans!

Good point, I don't think he'd sweep the division but he would definitely fit right in the mix if he's in top form and would provide some really good fights. I think the problem is he needs to find Some confidence first. That's why I think he goes down to 160 (if he can) and maybe picks up 2 wins and goes for strum. If he beats strum which he's definitely capable of he goes for a Martinez rematch or moves up to 168.

I think he has got a chance to come back stronger then ever and I would not bet against Kelly.
