Don't get me wrong, no doubt Kessler won, no doubt Kessler was dominating & was going to continue so but like the Fury fight politics took over Perdomo was whacked out but not hopeless the ref just stopped it sooner rather than later so Kessler / Ward could get it with KO's to beef up the hype. Money talks.

    You know I'm right :smooch

The punch that Kessler was winding up to land on the defenceless Perdomo would've laid him out cold. Are you disappointed that the ref didn't allow him to follow through?

Yet no mention of the Ward stoppage?

Leads me to think you have an agenda.

Perdomo would never have survived that round anyway! I did actually expect Perdomo to be a little tougher due to he never been stopped before, but when Kessler started to land his shots it was just a matter of time! Ref was doing okey job, imo

Nah man. The stoppage was kind of similar to Pavlik-Taylor I. At first I thought it was premature but when he stumbled and saw that his eyeballs were circling around, I understood why the ref stopped it.

I was more impressed w/ Kessler's work than I was with Ward.. This match up is gonna be a kracker though.

I sat in the 5th row from the ring and Perdomo looked done. Would had hoped for more rounds but that wasn't going to happen one way or the other

Yeah. I get that feeling that the promoters for both fighters (Ward & Kessler) pushed for things to turn out the way they did in preparation for the super 6; you've got to remember Showtime put up 50 million for this tournament & Perdomo wasn't even half as badly beaten as Jermain was when Froch stopped him. To me it looked like he got caught flush but was still reasonably aware of everything around him.

It should have been allowed to go on I feel but maybe it was national politics like how the UFC stops a fight immediately when a fighter hits the floor after a punch in Canada - different states/countries have different 'tolerances' for beatings.

    Key words: "kind of".

Didn't we all think the stoppage was too quick until Taylor slumped into Smoger?

If the same ref had been judging the Ward fight, he would have stopped it about 45 seconds earlier.

Well, the problem is really overcautious refs who assume the underdog is going to get f-ed up royally, so the stop it at the first sign of problems. That's what made Calzaghe-Manfredo suck (Gee, does Terry O'Connor ever ref a fight people liked?)

when the ref got between them Perdomo fell to the side he was grabing to the referee. The only thing that was preventing him from falling was the flurry of left and rights that was keeping perdomo soemwhat straight Premature stoppage my a$$

    Nope.

He would have stopped it when Kessler told him to.
