The ref was holding Perdomo up.

Not a bit. I was surprised when people complained about the stoppage. It was a ruthless beating Taylor took there.

If there's no standing 8 count the ref better stop it.... Perdomo was stuck up against the ropes. How many times do we boxing fans ***** about instances like Cooney-Norton, Mercer-Morrison.... and then when the ref does the right thing we ***** about that. Unbelievable.

Pretty accurate. If Kessler wasn't rusty and over excited he would have done some serious damage to the guy. When the guy fell after the ref stepped in, all question about the stoppage was answered.

Kessler was going to stop Perdomo sooner or later anyways. That stoppage isn't terribly controversial compared to other stoppages I've saw.

the problem is that Perdomo was defenseless and still standing. If he had gone down and taken an 8 count the ref would have allowed him to continue, but he didn't.

The guy went down after the ref stopped the fight, without receiving the additional blow that Kessler was winding up. Which shows that he was defenseless.
