Anyone that knows anthing about boxing knows this was at a catch weight ABOVE the 160 limit as stipulated in the contract of the original fight.
:good Wow!! I had some friends up Fairmont way too! Been through Y-Town and by a few times, though can't really say I stopped and checked it out.
Sorry I have been away for 5 months and haven't followed boxing in this period of time. Guess I don't know anything about boxing then. Except the fact that I have roughly followed it since 77.
IMHO, I think they threw that in there in hopes of Pavlik not taking the deal. But to their surprise......
NO not at all. You are doing a fine debate, actually one of the more civil and enjoyable ones I've come across in AWHILE on here. I think he was just taking a free shot back at you for the "out of the cave" remark.
Well then then tell me how you are such an expert on what a weak division 160 is if you didn't even know that was a non title fight? Obviously you know little of the division and don't follow it. What you do follow is the 168 huggers who CLAIM it is just sooooo much weaker than 168 than on one at 160 could EVER even hope to compete at 168. And you think I am in a cave......
Actually, Taylor was done at 160 and knew it. They tried to make the first fight a non title fight above weight as well. Of course as mandatory, Pavlik was having none of that.
Yes, alot can happen in 5 months time... Lets see - oh, nothing did. At least I knew that had fought twice. The rest you are saying makes me aware that you haven't seen me around. Before I left I was no. 2 on the yearly prediction thread after having been in the lead. Since you are so well versed in the 160 - tell me who can make Pavlik legendary at 160? Yes, I know he still needs to face Abraham - who else? John Duddy?
Thank you - yes, I knew that was below the belt - but it was already outthere - and I don't like to withdraw what I have posted - besides he seemed to have overlooked it for a while.
Pavlik's big one's are unfortunately going down left and right on him. We were waiting to see Duddy, which did have promise for a good one, and then Lee get's KO'd by Vera from the damned Contender (in which Vera didn't do very well:rofl ). Now I'm kind of holding my breath that Abraham doesn't get upset by friggin Ayala, so the 3rd big one isn't shot to **** before we get to see it.:bbb
