We agree on something. Problem is he keeps the left too low and does a little telegraph shoulder roll with the right. Kind of like a windup. Those two things negate his speed. Left has too far to go, right is telegraphed. Sounds like you got the torrent going. Good deal. I knew my shot was low before sending it also. You just hit a hot button topic though. Day after winning the title, Joe C gave a little one line challange to Pavlik. Suddenly the day after winning his title EVERY 168 hugger was saying NO WAY could Pavlik beat their 168 choice. I think it is telling though that JC said he comes back to 168 ONLY for Pavlik.
Good assessment on Taylor, and yes it's downloading as we speak.(hush, hush). Pavlik is a mark, because he has beaten an american idol, and as such have taken his place. Pavlik should never be underestimated though; he has heart, a chin, awesome power, but is still quite raw on the edges. I have alot of respect for Pavlik, he is a good guy - but Calzaghe is too experienced and too fast for him as we speak. And it wouldn't turn out well, if he met him tomorrow.
Yes, Kessler is running scared from this madman. - if the running after the timid broken jawed Abraham didn't scare him, or - the knockdown from prospect Allan Green, didn't scare him, or - the sit flat on his ass from Pavliks hands didn't scare him Then certainly the beatings of x-MW Banks or Top 25 almost gatekeeper Porras certainly did. SMW be warned, there is a new sheriff in town, and his name is Thomas Edison, the inventor of electricity - eh I mean Edison Miranda the pugilist.
I have seen one Calzaghe fight, Kessler. Seems like he waited 2 rounds to see what Kessler had and adapted. Kelly on the other hand admits he kept throwing the double jab and getting hit in the middle rounds of his last fight. Way too slow to adapt. That and the size difference right now. Drain Joe to step in the ring at 168, not weigh in 32 hours in advance, and I like Kelly's chances. I don't have an opinion on what 'fight weight' makes it fair. Power is its own skill. Miranda has trained for a long time to be able to land his one punch. So, if he lands it, I don't want to hear "Lucky Punch". To get back on topic.
Calzaghe weighed in at around 166 against Kessler - he can't get further down. Pavlik - Calzaghe Power: Pavlik 9 - 5 Handspeed: Calzaghe 8-5 Footspeed: Calzaghe 7-4 Experience: Calzaghe 10-6 Agility: Calzaghe 8-4 Adaption: Calzaghe 10-4 Stamina: Calzaghe 10-6 Bodywork: Draw Variety of Punches: Calzaghe 8-6 Pavlik is taller than Calzaghe. Pavlik fought at 164 according to boxrec against Taylor. Getting more bodyweight doesn't hurt Pavlik, since he isn't light on his feet to begin with.
Could have something to do with Green's retirement ... Mundine has lost a big moneyfight because of that and might be more interested in facing Kessler now. As we've seen Mundine has good pull with WBA getting nobodies ranked - for instanse Hamdan who got ranked for loosing every round to WBA number #13 Mads Larsen and the two argentinian taxidrivers and lately Soliman has also been ranked for the fight with Mundine.
You seem to forget Kessler's history of running from challengers and only fighting no-hopers at home...
Yeah, I have come to understand that this could be it, since Braehmer apparently moves to 175. 2nd part was funny as hell, but true.
guys...this entire argument that Kessler is afraid of a clubber like Miranda is ridiculous...I'm happy for Miranda that Kessler did not decide to take this fight. I like Miranda as a fighter, and believe me when I tell you that he is doing Miranda a favor by backing out of this fight. It might mean an early retirement for Miranda if Kessler took this fight.
