So he has one bad matchup, which he was being forced into - and you are all over him? Few can present the same resume after gaining a title - even after losing it. Europe is not Cirque d'America, where anyone can jump weightclasses and skip past legit challengers for title fights.

I see the same trend in Kessler as I did in Fernando Vargas, Back problems will take everything away from him, compare the vargas that fought tito to the vargas that fought odlh, Vargas couldn't even do the shoulder roll properly a true shell of his former self

He had the opportunity to face Miranda on showtime didn't he? That would have been better then this. So, my stating it was weak means I was all over him? :huh

If he can't get the big fights at home, then he should come to America. other wise, he'll be just another good Euro champ with questions.

In 2 years, Bute vs Kessler would be a coin flip.

He was going for Mundine - and that is better than Miranda by a long shot. Mundine ran, and the belt became vacant. By that time, had already gotten a rematch with AA. Yes, it would be better to thrash Miranda the middleweight, than Sartison, but at least he got a belt for leverage. No one will face him without it. Even with it, I don't see anyone calling out the top SMW at all. No one has the balls that Kessler has shown at SMW - and that is fact - incl Calzaghe. He has never rested on his laurels.

Don't worry - he will imitate Eddie Murphy and Come to America.

As I pointed out in Nov, 07, Kessler is a much more skilled and accomplished boxer than Pavlik.

At that time I ranked five guys as follows:

    Calzaghe
    Kessler
    Taylor
    Hopkins
    Winky.

The only minor tweaking I might do is switch the order of Taylor and Bernard.

The foregoing represents head-to-head, and not necessarily alltime status.

I hope so DP! Last thing I want to see is Kessler's talent and ability go to waste ala' Calzaghe in his prime.

I can only say the same. I have always said this to myself, "When Kessler stops pursuing his goal to be the best - I am no longer a fan". He had to take a few sidesteps after his loss to Calzaghe, but he is back on track, and the forced and unwarrented mandatory in the shape of Haussler is over.

Who do you think is next? I imagine Bute and Andrade will get it on again, so they might be out. I think a fight w/ Taylor would be a good one (assuming he beat Lacy, which he should). I haven't seen Froch...is he any good?

So is Kessler still gonna fight Tiziano Ferro's song?

He doesnt beat Dawson. I'd have to see him against Taylor to truly guage his abilities. He just looks like another Euro hype job to me.

Kessler simply needs to strike while the iron's hot, so to speak. Taylor/Lacy winner is the perfect fight to make his debut in the states. If he can't get either of them, then even take Allan Green or someone. Just go to America and do what plenty of Europeans fail to do.

Truthfully, I think Kessler will only have 3-5 more fights at 168 before moving to 175. Taylor/Lacy, Bute, Froch/Pascal and maybe Green, Inkin. I doubt he'll want to waste a lot more time with "scrubs".

That would be a big negative.

Imagine Micky Ward trying to fight like RJJ.
