The Ketchel Question

    I never understood the hype of Ketchel. Most overrated MW of all time. He was cherry picked by Johnson for a money grab fight. On film he looks awful.

    Loads of old time fighters rated him, too. Lots of his peers rated him also. You can put together a real nice summary of people saying Ali and Louis weren't up to it also. It doesn't mean anything really.

    Against Jack Johnson he came carrying his chin high up in the air. I can't think of any world level boxer in the last 70 years who has footwork and jab as bad as Ketchell in that fight. I mean maybe there is someone.

    However he is top draw as a natural puncher who could transfer all his bodyweight into his punches
