I actually had a ringside seat for Pep vs Graves so I can confirm that it is indeed true.

Not officially hasn't, but I score heavily for defence and he definitely beat Dubois, IMO.

    I couldn't disagree more.

All I could think of is when are people going to stop putting Kevin Johnson on boxing shows. He literally sucked the life out of that show. The crowd was dead during and afterward. Just dead.

I can't remember how many times over the years he's bored me to death. I had to turn the Dubois fight off at some point, because it was boring as hell, only to turn it back on and see it was still going on.

When you get in the prize ring, your job is to win and to entertain.

Kevin Johnson goes out of his way to do NEITHER.

If you want to show off your survival skills and make no effort to win or even try to put on a good show, then just fight as a sparring partner. If you aren't going to try to win, then there's no point in you being on the card.

Any promoter who pays that guy to be on a card should lose his license. If you are a good promoter, Kevin Johnson brings ZERO to your promotion.

In fact, he'll do damage to it. He certainly did Saturday to that show.

Remember when Kevin Johnson vs. Malik Scott was being thrown around as a matchup of potential future champions?

I miss the good ol’ days.

Fair enough you got me. It's not the first time I've been caught lying and it won't be the last either.

Not sure if KJ falls under the under-achiever's list where he only did enough to survive. Or the over achiever list. An average fighter who went further than expected.

I thought he could do big things when I watched him defeat another undefeated prospect named Devin Vargas.
    His jab was nasty.

I lost all respect for him when he landed the fewest punches I'd ever seen against VK. Punchstats was dead on. They credit him for landing 65. In the whole fight. He wanted nothing to do with Vitali.

I haven't seen his fight with Fury, Joshua , Milas or Chisora.

Kingpin was winning on the cards against AJ before the knockout.

No it is not a boxer’s duty to entertain. It’s prize fighting. They fight for money and that’s where it stops. Whether or not a fighter is entertaining will impact on their earning potential but it’s not their job. They aren’t clowns, they are fighters.

Also, your entire post is laughable really and warrants no response. Kevin is 39 years old and in the ring with a very dangerous man. He has a daughter. His number one priority is to get out safely. I doubt he gives a **** about entertaining some anonymous, faceless no mark behind a keyboard and rightly so.

Laughable? Of course, it's their duty to try to win and to entertain. If they want to just put on gloves and not throw punches and get paid, like I said, stick to sparring. You get paid for that, too, and nobody has to spend a $100 for a ticket to watch you bore the pants off them.

And they are prize fighters, which is why argument the number-one priority for a FIGHTER is to FIGHT and WIN.

And NO ONE who has ever purchased a ticket to a boxing match would ever start a thread PRAISING Kevin Johnson or hop on and praise his performance on Saturday. That's for damn sure. So it's clear you never have.

And it's clear you've never fought. Because the only thing any fighter watching Saturday would learn from him is how to lose every minute of every round for 10 rounds.

Nobody will ever pull out a copy of the Kevin Johnson-Dubois fight and say, "Now men, this is how you do it. This is how you get punched 500 times and throw next to nothing in return and bore thousands of paying customers. Look at that. Stunning, isn't it? The crowd is so bored and uninterested, you can almost hear people talking on their phones in the audience and turning the channels at home. It's a thing beauty, I tell you. I'm going to start a thread on a boxing forum about great this is when I get home. Now THAT'S how you drain the life out of a boxing card!"

And every freaking boxer over 30 has kids. Holyfield had 20 daughters at various wives and girlfriends' homes, and he didn't bore the hell out of people or hold back. Ever.

Nobody thought that garbage Saturday was worthy of praise.

His piano playing is garbage, too.

I have fought you ****ing no mark and yes it is laughable that you are demanding Johnson to box in a way that would almost certainly lead to a KO defeat.

Are you this bloke by any chance:

On second thoughts he’s probably more athletic than you. Such a casual mentality you have, sitting on the sofa and telling a 39 year old shot to **** man that he needs to do more to entertain you when he’s in the ring with a dangerous far younger and far more physically gifted talent.

You mean throwing punches would've led to his defeat, as opposed to just letting Dubois hit him for 10 rounds and offer next to nothing in return?

    Go away.

The grand total of people who found his performance Saturday worthy of praise all fit in your bathroom mirror.

Just thank god you are not a trainer, your boxing IQ is so weak that you’d send shot to **** Johnson out against Dubois telling him to throw and get counter punch knocked out by Dubois. That’s genuinely the type of insight I’d expect from a drunken tub of lard with zero boxing knowledge watching the fight in a pub.

    I’ve probably described you tbh.
