DLH gave away his jab. He got frustrated and abandoned it, and yes you can credit Floyd for that but you also need to keep in mind that Oscar's pretty mentally weak when the going gets tough. Certainly weaker than Shane. If Shane commits to a strategy it's doubtful Floyd would be able to discourage him, at least from a psychological vantage.

He doesnt need to discourage him tho, he can adapt to what Shane is doing & pull away from him by bagging more rds, if Shane doesnt change his plan, he loses, unless of course his plan is so good that FM cant adapt, he might have to actually go for it for once, then we have ourselves something very special indeed because thus far, his pure boxing has been enough.

Should be a great night either way.

The first thing I would do if I was Shane was something that bordered on dirty. Throw Floyd down in a clinch, hit him on the belt line, muscle him around. Maybe even give him the Hopkins special. Spend the entire 1st round reminding him that he's facing a legit WW for the first time in a long time. Make sure Floyd understands that he won't be able to get comfortable and make sure he realizes you came to fight.

From there he can start using his jab and all that cool technical stuff.

Yeah, jab, jab, jab wasting energy, not hitting Floyd, and giving him a zillion chances to land counterpunches picking the predictable timing of "jab, jab, jab".

Fight in goddamn spurts and make Floyd look bad by NOT attacking him and fighting negative. THAT is the way to beat him, and what somehow noone ever figured. Whomever pressed Floyd got countered to death or knocked out.

When laying out tactics and analysis, I always leave out the illegal stuff, but it would be a pretty good way to discomfort Floyd and throw his equilibrium off. The only bad thing is that with Floyd in the ring and a fight of this magnitude, which will certainly cross over to the general public as well as all boxing fans, the ref might be quick on the trigger for points deductions.

Too bad Shane doesn't have a jab all he does is paw with it and use it for a range finder. If I said this once I've said it 1000 times. You won't beat an elite defensive counter-puncher like PBF without a jab.

I think you have to scout the referee for that. If it's Cortez, you may be a little bit more cautious. If it's a guy like Smoger or Bayless, let the arrows (or elbows) fly.

Styles make fights. ODLH's jabs are by far better than Mosley's. SSM's frame isn't made for jabs. If Mosley delivers his crooked jab he'd lose bigtime.

Mosley jabs with his head straight up in the air, HELLO COUNTER!!!!

Mosley's gameplan should be to get off first and then crowd. Make this the ugliest fight in the history of fights. lead right hand, grab, rough up until ref breaks, over and over and over. He has very fast hands and he is very strong in the clinch. Those are his ONLY weapons Floyd won't be able to take away.

Mayweather didn't take Oscar's jab away at all. He didn't change anything mid-way through the fight, it was Oscar who inexplicably changed his tactics. How exactly did Floyd take away Oscar's jab? BS. Oscar stopped voluntarily, you can see the point in the fight where he just stops for no reason.

Mosley doesn't usually use his jab as a main weapon, but that doesn't mean he is an idiot with no jabbing ability who won't use it much more than usual if he thinks it can be important. I'm sure Naazim will impress upon him the significance of the jab in this fight, and Mosley will use his reach, power and handspeed to keep pumping it out all night long.

I will be very honest here. I don't care if Mosley wins or not. I will be very happy if Shane just make Floyd work for his money. I want Mosley to give him a hard fight. Not to fall for Floyds games. I want Mosley to use his elbows just like Floyd always do and get away with it. I want Mosley to push him, grab him, bully him. I want to see Floyd facing adversity. And Floyd will either show greatness, or crumble to pieces. But I want to see him in a real fight. Something that hasn't happened in over 5 years.
