    If Pakistanis weren't offended by the appelative "Paki", most if not all people who use the term wouldn't use it in the first place; they use it BECAUSE they know it offends/upsets Pakistanis, BECAUSE they want to cause offence or because they dislike Pakistanis and know that people who dislike Pakistanis use the term to refer to Pakistanis. Hence, it is an offensive term (as we all know).;)

    ...off topic, I know.

    As I've said it has almost always been used in a derogatory manner. Especially when skinheads used to go around paki-bashing. I swear, I'm as laidback a guy as you can get, but I find it offensive, and I know almost all other pakistanis do too.

    Because the way people feel about Khan is rightly or wrongly influenced by his ethnic background/religion. Some people want him to lose because he is Pakistani/Muslim, for example. Others excuse him for his faults/mistakes for the same reason too.

    Fita please excuse my ignorance in this matter- my family are mixed race of many different cultures so race has neve been something that has ever been an issue for me thus the lack of knowlege. :good

    Khans race is irrelevant to me... his fans behaviour and attitude is relevant because it directly affects my viewing pleasure.
