As some of the posters on here were questioning whether this event would be a success for a PPV event, BSkyB have now published the sales figures for the Khan v Prescott at 49,000 sales - not sure if this represents a success or not?

I thought it would do really well, but I was wrong. 49,000 doesn't sound like a lot to me. I think a lot of people resorted to (cough) internet radio coverage.

Seems quite low  nice. Makes you wonder about advertisment revenue from such a small audience.

That doesn't sound a great deal to me (£3/4 mill) but I'm no expert on the economics of it all.

The damage of the loss would be worth a hell of alot more than that.

The answer is a massive no.

In this interview before the fight Warren said he needed 250,000 buys to make the event a success.

"Warren needs about 250,000 buys of Khan's fight, at £14.99 each, to ensure success on Saturday."

Can't say that the low number is a shock. I don't know anyone who got it, unlike the prime Hatton fights

Same here, I know 1 mate who got it and thats because he wanted to stay in on the Saturday night and save some money for his holidays the next week. People just wern't talking about it at all in the week leading up to the fight.

Although I was never really thinking about getting it what made it easier to resist on the night was the thought of handing over money that could go into the pockets of Audley.

Seems like poetic justice to me.

Look people will not buy shitty PPV, it doesn't matter who it is, it has to a competive match IF they won't big numbers
