I have to admit I thought going into this JR was biting off more than he can chew but he took a whooping for 11 rds and almost stole the fight in the 12th ..He really though needs a real trainer .All that come forward **** won't do him any good ..I have always noticed that with pressure fighters once you box them they turn so 1 dimesnional! Great night of action .Much respect to Jr for the effort .I don't see the rematch going any diffrent but we never know !

I think he was too gun-shy and didn't really try to walk Martinez down enough, I think he was a reluctant to risk taking shots to get his own in. Some credit to him but what did you expect, him to give up his title on his stool? If I was a Chavez fan I would have been slightly disappointed with the performance, he was schooled until he caught Martinez with one big shot and couldn't quite finish him. That said I do still think he has a good future and will be in big fights and would be a test for anyone at middleweight: Martinez probably made him look a little worse than what he did, not many opponents would be able to dance and dominate like he did.
