It shouldn't be taking him this long to line up another fight after the last one he had a while back. He needs to get active quickly if he hopes to make a solid comeback. I know most if not all of you will say that he is washed up, out of shape, and couldn't make a solid comeback even if he tried, but I still truly believe that if he gets his ass in shape and stays active by fighting low level competition as often as possible, ala comeback George Foreman, and slowly works his way up the ranks, then he could still do some damage in today's heavyweight division.

I followed Johnson a little bit in the early 2000's, and unfortunately what people remember most about him is knockout loss to Vitali back in 04 I believe. I would be pulling for him if he made a solid comeback and his weight was decent.

The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society would never allow Kirk to be harpooned again.

Kirk Johnson could not even be bothered to try his best during his younger years. It's impossible to take any comeback seriously.

  10. George Foreman he is not.

IMO KJ was never that good. Decent... but not that good. His comeback is what it is.

he's probably having a hard time lining up the fights he wants, kj is probably descent enough even at this stage that no protected fighter will wanna get in with him (no reward/high risk) and johnson is probably trying to make some money off his fights and that will probably be tough with the cans that will fight him.

kirk was a capable fighter but i feel that bull**** dq loss in his title shot against john ruiz ruined him mentally...and it showed in subsequent fights..if he was going to make a serious comeback he would have done it like 3-4 years ago

He was poorly managed. He should have quickly had a number of fights with increasingly competitive opponents when making his last comeback. He got caught up with a promotion that hadn't even secured a fire hall permit on a card that got cancelled, and then fought Douglas Robertson, and then was to be on another card that ended up being cancelled. His camp needed to realize that what he needed was exposure and that any payoff was going to be in the long-run after climbing the ladder, because as other posters have correctly pointed out, the risk/reward calculation for fighting him after being on the shelf and unranked for years is very negative. He should have almost been paying other fighters to step into the ring with him just for exposure and getting his name back out there.
