Most relevant fights and opponents, majority consensus recognition, same titles that made most consider Haye undisputed cruiserweight champion, he's established himself as the man in the minds of nearly everyone. I think unless you're holding onto a concept that would've seen nobody the real champion after Tunney retired, you're going to have to concede the point eventually. :yep

You are only speaking about the United States. Which is because the Heavyweights aren't even aired on TV anymore over here. It's that simple.

Go to Germany or the Ukraine and ask who the heavyweight champ is. It's all relative.

 

Who is responsible for the heavyweight division not being shown in America? HBO gave Wlad the biggest backing you'll ever see a non-American fighter get, including Hatton, Calzaghe, Martinez etc., and solely because of his performance against Ibragimov, HBO turned their backs on the division.

It's the fault of the Klitschkos that heavyweight boxing is not on HBO. If they were entertaining, the division would get more exposure.

 

I could be mistaken, but I thought Lewis only unified three belts by beating Holyfield, and no one really gave a **** about the WBO at the time. Maybe Herbie Hide had it in 2000?
