The problem with this is not that he fights the klitchkos but that if Haye wins all 4 fights he still wont have the alphabet titles because he will not be able to fight his mandatories. This will be a pain in the ass.
First of all, your diagram does NOT match the quote you pasted in. The rematch clause is a double, not a triple, as your diagram implies. A little unusual, but what has Haye done to get to this point ? He should be thankful he's even getting a crack at the title. The only difference in this and a standard re-match clause is that, should he win the rematch, he is committed to fighting another heavywt champion as well. This content is protected IF, he gets to that point, he will have been 'forced' into the three biggest fights available to any heavywt boxer, with all that entails. Such poor treatment ! All academic anyway, as he probably won't see the second half of the first fight.
"If Haye wins the second Klitschko encounter, the third fight would be a rematch with Wladimir [if Haye fights Vitali second] and/or a rematch with Vitali." The diagram is illustrating the worst case scenario. Therefore, the "and"-part of the quote was matched instead of the "or"-part. This would make it a triple rematch clause which fits as a worst case scenario matching the quote (and makes the diagram correct). Whether it is a likely scenario in real life is something else (I hope not as I wish to see Haye fighting different fighters aswell instead of obligatory only Klitschkos for four times in a row)
No. The and/or is used twice an is needed to detremine which Klitschko he would fight in which order. Even according to Haye, if he beats Wlad, he would be compelled to either rematch him or fight Vitali. (That's TWO Klitschlo fights for Haye). And IF he were to win THAT fight, he would then be compelled to fight whichever brother he didn't fight in the second fight. That's a total of THREE Klitschlko fights. And that's the 'worst' case scenario. As I've already mentioned, it's hard to see what's 'worst about it.
Good point, I dont have a big problem with it. Besides theres a good chance that if Haye does beat Wlad and Vitali he will fight 1 or 2 other contenders in between the remathces.
3rd fight really, and 4th fight technicaly. He beat Bonin back in 2007 and some other HW I think in late 05 or 06.
I think it will be funnier if they put in the contract that if Wlad KO's Haye, then Haye still has to fight Vitali next so he can KO him too Is this unprecedented that a third party fighter is in the terms of a fight contract for two other fighters?
I've never heard of it before. Thats why it reminds me of a little kid getting beat up and running to his older brother.
In a lot of ways it makes things more convenient for Haye if he beats Wlad. We've been whining for the past year about how long it takes Haye to get fights signed, he won't have to even bother for the next one and possibly two. He can relax for a few weeks then go back to training with at least the basics already worked out. I don't know how far they took the clauses, but it will guarantee him the fights at the very least. No searching for an opponent, no making offers and having negotiations. Just knowing that you're going to make a few million more. I'd take it in a heartbeat. But no one's ever offered me that kind of money either.
Who cares about the silly diagram. Haye gets ****ed by Klitschko and after that fight noone ever wants to see Klitschko Haye 2. Forget about these silly Brits talking **** all the time at this board. They will be silent June 21....
