Good points, farmy! I for one have always enjoyed watching both Klitschko brother do their job inside a box ring. The same cant be said about the vast mayority of present heavies out there. By the way I for my part think that the casual box fan in Germany is better informed about boxing worldwide than the average British,Russian,or American fight fan. Boxing is big in Germany-almost daily a pro event can be seen on one of the numerous tv channles which broadcasts boxing. Makes me laugh to read the posts of some of the clueless American posters here on esb who have never seen Kotelnik fight in a ring-neither live nor on tv.Nevertheless, after Ortiz had knocked out some limited journeymen and local American clubfighters they started hailing him as the next big think out there. According to those knowledgeable fight fans Kotelnik would hardly survive the second round of his encounter with Ortiz. Ludicrious! Some of the American fight fans seem to live in their own universe where the bible of boxing is their only source of information. As for the fight crowds in Germany Germans are a very reserved and cold-blooded people.True! However,I bet my house that any prize fighter around the globe prefers fighting in front of a quiet German fight crowd in a sold-out arena for big bucks to fighting in a noisy but small fight crowd for little money.Money is the name of this game. Without the Germans the pro circus would be totally insignificant today.
The HWs are the ones who attract the most attention in boxing, even at the current poor state of the division. People love to watch the giants go at it, if the matchup is good it will sell out everywhere.
