You know I used to root for Valuev and was happy when he rid the WBA title of Ruiz. Now however I feel Valuev is a disgrace to the sport. His fights against Holyfield, Donald and both Ruiz fights were very disputed. He even struggled with Bergeron. These are not opponents a real champion should have had such trouble with, leave alone having to get a gift from the judges against. I´m not saying Valuev is necessarily a bad person, but his career has been a detriment and an embarrassment to the sport. I think Vitali would only turn down the fight if he´s looking for a bigger payday against Haye. After all Wlad now has a long overdue mandatory in Povetkin and then a mandatory in the Chambers/Dimitrenko winner and thus may not be able to fight Haye at all (hence his comment about Haye having to get back in line). If you think Vitali or Wlad couldn´t KO the giant, watch this clip: [YT]KaigdKiO8Xc[/YT]
I do find it kind of strange the Vitali would turn down a fight with Valuev for one reason. I would have thought that such an exotic fight (two giants fighting each other) could attract a lot of attention and money. But I may just be wrong. David Haye is very popular of course and Valuev, after countless crap performances, may just not be a sought after choice with the TV channels. I for one would love to watch the fight and see the giant get a real beating, instead of just being skilfully but carefully outboxed as he was against Chagaev.
