The Klitschkos are NOT World Champions. They are Titleholders.

I heard that Sam Peter found a job wiping windshields in Portland. And James "Lights Out" Toney is HIS IBA/NABO Champion, and is getting prepared for another run at a World Championship shot.

When he had to face Vitali Klitschko, Sam Peter forgot to float like a butterfly and sting like a bee.

This is boxing, even more quirky than Pro Rasslin. I wouldnt be surprised to see Toney land either a shot at the Klits, or Chagaev. 2 things are for sure here.

    1. James Toney is YOUR IBA/NABO Champion. This doesnt mean World Championship status, but it DOES mean that he is now ranked in the HW Division of the WBO. He has a belt. He will need to defend it against probably Thompson this year, and if he beats Thompson, he is slowly making his way to mandatory challenger status to Waldo. If Vitali gets hit on the chin by Gomez, the Title is as good as ours. Also, Vitali is no lock to win. And when Waldo finally decides to defend his Titles, we also could see a shift in power, if he gets caught.

    2. JT is a Goosen Fighter. If the $$$$ is right, he will get another shot.

True but I can't see him win agaisnt Thompson either. If he doesn't replace somebody injured in a title fight I can't see it.

James Toney will outpoint Thompson. 12 round SD, contraversial. I'd love to see Toney get the winner of Chagaev-Andre (RC) this year, and finally get the WBA Belt that was STOLEN from him by racists with no life.

No, it's not that. It's hard to debate the kind of manlove for the Klits that Widdow has. It's the same kind of love that Mariah has for Nick "The Cannon" Cannon, after he ejacualtes deep inside her cervix and falls asleep naked, and Mariah stays up, and caresses and kisses his slumbering body as she ponders the fact that within her body, a new life could be growing.

What JP is doing is the typical revisionism when you suffer from "good-old-times nostalgia".

Name a few of Holmes 200+ opponents, that Wlad wouldn't be able to beat but Holmes could. Now if you think that Wlad can beat all (or nearly all) of Holmes opponents then you have to admit that Wlad plays in the same league like Holmes.

And in fact Holmes LOST against Tyson, Spinks, Nielsen, McCall, Holyfield. Don't forget that, too.

His best KO win was against Cooney, but only in round 13, not a KO win by our standards.

Actually when you count together all of Holmes' better opponents (= those who win 75% or more of their fights) then Wlad (22 KOs) has KOed (within 12 rounds) more non-bummy heavyweights (200+ lbs) than HOLMES (12) and Muhammad Ali ( 8 ) COMBINED.

Stop complaining about Wlad. We see history in the making but you treat the old fights as if it was boxing from outer space. It was not.

James Toney is a heavyweight LOSER. His overall career is OK, but as a heavyweight he has a record of 5-2-1 with 1 (ONE!) KO win over (shoulder-aching) Holyfield.

My gods, even David Haye (7-0, 7 KOs) has nearly a better record against heavyweight opponents.

If you think that featherfisted Toney (whose record consists of fighting opponents as low as 148+) has ANY chance against Klitschko (or even Chagaev).

I wonder what mental attitude this is to dis Klitschko as world champion but to mention Toney as a worthy heavyweight. The only way I would mention Toney (or Ruiz) is to hope that Klitschko rids us of them.

LOL. The Norton who lost to Holmes would have beaten Wlad worse than the prostitute who got beaten by Ike Ibeabuchhi. The version of Holyfield who Holmes got edged by would have sodomized Wlad.

You dont even have faith in Toney beating Thomson but you think he can beat Wlad :-(

Toney got embarrased by Rahman and Peter, two fat guys who have problems with stamina but were dancing and smiling in the 12th rounds against Toney, peperring him with double, triple jabs bouncing off his fat face.

Peter and Rahman might have been brutilized by the Klitchkos but against James Toney they were boxing circles.

Toney made Rahman quit and did a hell of a lot better (Against Peter) than Wladdy did against Peter. Sam Peter hit Wlad solid, and Wlad hugged harder than Te Tumbo did at the unveiling of the statue at the Staples Center. Rahman boxing circles?....I remember him quitting on his stool, baby, and then getting picked as a Klit opponent!:D

Pure excuses and pure speculation, proven by nothing, and especially not by Holyfield's record:

Holyfield's record against fighters of Wlad's weight (235+ lbs): 4-4-1. Only 1 KO (against fatty Douglas).
Holyfield's record against fighters with Wlad's reach: 5-5-1. Again Douglas is Holyfield's only KO.
Holyfield's record against fighters with Wlad's height: 0-1 (loss against Valuev).
Holyfield's record against non-bummy natural heavyweights: 7 KOs and 6 losses, KOratio 30% (= VERY featherfisted)

If you think that featherfisted Holyfield could withstand 12 rounds of bashing, you are mistaken.

I see NOTHING in Holy's arsenal that would endanger Wlad.
