OKay, fiorst off, my beef with a Wlad vs Valuev fight goes long before the last minute repalcement of Haye...Anyhow, I'll ignore that for now...

First you give me Wlad's side of the Valuev deal... which is fine. If you read my first post, I knew that would be brought up. But if you are willing to take Wlad at his word for this, then you should also take Briggs at his when regarding the Briggs fight. Briggs said there was a deal, and Wlad backed out... You can't be trusting in one instance and not the other without showing a clear bias.

As for fighting someone higher regarded, you most certainly duck by choosing a higher regarded, yet safer opponent. You know the old saying that styles make fights... choosing a higher ranked opponent is often a great way to avoid a more dangerous opponent. Stylistcally.

ok so wlad offered to fight valuev and was refused. as was verified by several independant sources at that time so how can he be ducking someone of whom he offered to fight and was refused :huh Of course you are going to ignore it for now because you really dont have a case for saying there was a duck.

Wlad and briggs were negotiating for a fight well then brock became available who was a better opponent more highly regarded and was actually deserving of a shot and was actually fighting and beating live bodies unlike briggs..
Remember Brock managed to beat McCline something briggs was incapable of :deal And how was brock less dangerous he was an undefeated top ten heavyweight? with power he scored the ko of the year before he fought wlad and who was chosen by many experts to beat Wlad...

by that time the highly flawed Briggs was managing to be dominated by Mccline and dropping decisions to the likes of sedrick fields... as well as having been ko'd by a bum and scoring a draw against a washed up fighter...
Stylisticaly briggs had power yet that did seem to dissapate whenever he stepped up and fought above average opposition... an average chin and horrible stamina with way inferior boxing skills.. hence being dominated by McCline... So im sorry i dont see how Briggs was a more dangerous then an undefeated top ten fighter coming off of a spectacular ko. and again who was picked by quite a few to win :huh

Fighting a better fighter is not a duck that would be like Vitaly walking away from Sosnowski to fight say solis does that mean he ducked sosnowski No a better challenger came around so he took the fight that would win him more acclaim and handing him his first loss..:good

speaking of vitaly.. So remind me how you came to the conclusion that Vit was ducking Rach?

Wlad does not duck anybody, he is the true champion, looks for the big fights exclusivelly and makes the necessary effort to make them happen.

Vitali, on the other hand, seems to be putting money too high on his priorities right now. He could be having interesting fights with Solis and maybe Valuev, but instead he is having mismatches against a B level Sosnowsky and parcially handicapped Briggs. Kind of frustating after he had 4 consecutive good fights to restart his career.

I think Wlad would have KO'd Arreola at the time (greater one-punch power than Vitali and he would have really tagged Arreola after softening him up - Arreola significanly less physically imposing than in-shape undefeated Peter). Not sure about Vitali/Chambers.
