Wlad's loss against Purrity wasn't close to his prime. However, you are right in the Sanders and Brewster loses: Wlad was very near or in his prime.

However, it's not the first time that an ATG loses against a weak fighter.

    Tyson lost against Buster Douglas.
Dempsey lost against several weak fighters, like Willie Meehan and Fireman Flynn.
    Holyfield lost against Michael Moorer.
Lewis lost against Rahman, who has had a poor career.

Foreman lost against Jimmy Young. Although Young's better than Sanders or Brewster, he wasn't so good.

You're also saying that Wlad didn't avenge his loses. However, remember than he avenged the Brewster loss. So what you're saying isn't completely truth.

This has to be the most hilarious, brutally efficient example on how to destroy & expose idiotic, unknowledgeable posters.

It's just as daft as saying byrd beat holyfield so a victory over byrd means more there also.

His logic doesn't hold up. Beating vitali is clearly better than beating byrd.

You make a good case for byrd being greater than vitali, i'll give you credit for that. You're right, vitali can't beat them 3 victories can he?

Still I prefer vitali's longevity and consistency over byrds championship run.

Lewis ruled 4 years, wlad ruled 4 years. Lewis beat former and future champions, wlad we won't know for a while, lewis beat his number 1 contender, wlad to date hasn't.

If you can't see these two greats are clearly above the rest, you're just hating.

Vitali is 3rd but you make a good argument for byrd being 3rd ahead of him.

Name one fighter who Lewis beat who made the mark in this era? Tua, Grant, Holyfiled, Rahman, Tyson? They all went nowhere. And for the record - Lewis did not beat Vitali - not in my book.
