I personally don't have a problem with either Klitschko... Only certain individuals who constantly and repeatedly make excuses for their defeats. Wlad was 23-0 and an olympic gold medalist, yet somehow he was "ill prepared" to be facing an out of shape journeyman with 11 career loses.. Too green? fine... Then let's fast forward the clock a few years to 2003. Wlad is now 28 years old with a record of 40-1 and with a number of defenses of the WBO title.. He gets his ass handed to him by a 37 year old semi-retired veteran who never beat a world class opponent. Yet the excuse is, " he was still a work in progress. " Moving ahead to 2004. Wlad is now 29 years of age, with a record 42-2, and now has all time legendary trainer Manny Steward in his corner. He loses again.... A year later, he looks like **** against Samuel Peter.... Vitali gets in the ring with Chris Byrd and is underly kicking the **** out of him.... With 3 rounds left to go, he calls it quits due to a shoulder injury ( something that Evander Holyfield and countless others have fought through multiple times.) The loss is disregarded by his fans... He fights a 37 year old Lennox Lewis who was off for 12 months and at a career high weight... He fights galantly but takes some huge shots in the process, with one of them opening up a cut.. Fight is stopped, and again its not a legitimate loss.....

At what point do people just accept a defeat as a defeat? I don't see any Klitschko fans making excuses for Lamon Brewster in his rematch with Wlad, for being off for nearly two years and returning from an eye injury... Or any excuses for Sanders being 38 years old and off for 13 months prior to facing Vitali.. And of course the most obvious example, with Lewis being on the ass end of his career, yet STILL WINNING THE FIGHT..... Oh no, the thing that we are all expected to place the most emphasis on was vitali's taking the fight at the last minute, ( as if Lewis knew months in advanced who he was facing, while keeping Vitali in the dark ) and Lewis benefitting from a premature stoppage after opening a cut that is now one of googles most viewed images... At best it seems like a lop sided double standard..

Lastly, we get people ( mostly trolls ) who start threads on an almost weekly basis about how either or both Klitscko's would " dominate" any era, and how anyone who disputes this is a biased American fan suffering from nostalgia...

Again, I don't have an issue with the Klitschko's or for that matter, anyone who is a "reasonable" fan of them.. But some of their apologists are beginning to surpass the idiocy of the same sort of fans who made any and every excuse for Tyson's career decline......

Losing a stoppage via cut caused by a PUNCH and calling it an "injury" would be about as lame as saying the same thing about a knockout that was also caused by the very same punch.

Fighters have been either winning or losing bouts that were stopped on cuts forever.. Why is it that all of a sudden, Lewis wins a match in this way and its deamed as a "fluke" or "luck" or an "illegitimate win"? Was it because Vitali signaled that he wanted to continue, as if that's anything new coming from the corner of a fighter who just lost a fight?
