With all the previous threads like these for other great fighters, I just remembered one who is not just an ATG at 140, but an exciting fighter as well. His wars against Philips, Hurtado and wins over Chavez, Gonzales and unfying the title against Judah really justifies his HOF eligibility. A prim Tszyu placed at 140 right now would probably run roughshod over everyone in the division. Admit it you miss fighters like him.
I don't dislike Kostya Tszu he was a decent fighter but I don't buy into the post retirement hype that been built up around him.
He was pretty amazing. Much props to him He gets all the respect in the world for handling his business in a professional manner. He was a beast. Glad he hasnt come back and tarnished his legacy. He was a monster in his prime
The hype was much worse when he was still active. His resume is pretty lame for an "ATG." Dude's signature win was over Judah, and he got KO'd by a homeless crack addict in his prime. I've also never seen anybody make a substantive argument about his greatness as a pro without bringing up his amateur record.
That is not far stretched. His competition early on his career was exceptional good for having so less fights. He was complete fighter from early on.
Yup :good He came out of the amatuer game looking like a fully formed professional, very little transition was needed. If anything he became seduced by his own power and got away from his Boxing a little in later years. I wouldn't go as far to say he'd of been the man, but an ABC sort of belt would of been well within reach. I'd argue he was better developed than Rigondeaux is now.
