Its no secret that Sergey Kovalev has thudding knockout power. I know the death in the ring got people on edge. But what really stuck out to me was his 1-2-1 combinationrig, which is a jab right hand jab combo. It seems that's his go to for people who like to back up. He would throw a quick 1-2 and as he's throwing the right hand he lifts his back leg and follows through with a jab. And he has actually knocked down opponents with this. What do you think of it guys. Is it a powerful combo or is just Kovalev. Is it a effective combo to use? Do you guys know any other fighter who uses it too with success?

It can be, it's a simple, but somewhat unorthodox combination. Kovalev basically throws that last jab out of the southpaw stance due to his positioning so he gets more juice on it and with his natural power already it's very effective. I've seen Alfonso Gomez have some success landing it in a few of his fights though he doesn't have the stopping power obviously.

In general, I feel fighters willing to put punches together in any form get good results because they are more likely to surprise their opponent with something. Good combination punching is somewhat a dying art sadly.

its an underrated combo, plus kovs jab is like a right hand. Really good combo for him to use on people.
