:happy Ribbon cutting was Memorial Day, with Tommy Hearns in attendance. McCrory will be head trainer, supported by Javan Sugar Hill. :good
Good and they opened it back on the West Side of Detroit where it originally is from. I know alot of you guys don't know about Detroit but the East and the West have always been rivals when it comes to...EVERYTHING.:good
I wonder if any of the last scions like Tony Harrison, Andy Lee, Leandre White, Anthony Barnes, Domonique Dolton, and John "Action" Jackson or Adonis Stevenson will come home to roost to base themselves at least part-time in the new Kronk. Most of them have rocked the red-and-gold in the ring; it would only be proper & decent to do would be to come and support the resurrection of the gym to honor Manny's legacy (from which they've all benefited)
I doubt it. I'm from there but moved back in 09 to San Diego because the crime rate got too bad. They might visit it to pay homage to Steward but training there might be far fetched for guys that broadcast their earnings. It would be nice though.
Well of those only Lee & Stevenson have "made it"...Harrison is on the cusp (but is from Detroit himself, and was actually raised from the ground up by Steward, not just mentored by him midway into his career like the other guys) - the rest are pretty much still toiling in obscurity. They'd do well to attach themselves onto what McCrory & Hill & maybe Banks are looking to do with the new joint, and help be role models for the new amateur team once they get it up & running...
