Name any great fighter, and the person from any era who you think would be the absolute kryptonite to them? (meaning the fighter in history they would absolutely match up with the worst.) I'll start: Rocky Marciano = George Foreman. I don't see any possible worse matchup for Marciano, I don't see any swarmer in history being able to come at Foreman and win. Marciano had a good chin, but Foreman was simply too hard of a puncher, and Marciano's style is tailor made for him.
Big men that can fight on the inside always beat those small HW's. That's why I say bowe would have killed tyson because he would rip him with uppercuts on the inside. Same thing happened to frazier against foreman.
Ok, but do you think Bowe would be the worst matchup for Tyson of any fighter you can think of? I am asking what you think the absolute WORST matchup for any fighter would be, although I agree the Bowe from his first fight with Holyfield would probably beat up any version of Tyson
Call me crazy..but I think Roy Jones would be a nightmare for Sugar Ray Robinson..Graet as the Sugarman was Roy Jones was quicker..hand and foot..and punched harder..if his chin could hold up..cause The Sugarman sure would test it.
One punch from SRR and Roy would be knocked into next week. He's a great fighter especially while on steroids but he'll be stopped
this is not crazy. jones is too big for robinson. robinson had trouble with randy turpin at middle, not sure how he'd be able to handle jones. robinson at 147 is completely different. that's as perfect a fighter as you could ever see.
Accepting that there is no worthwhile footage of him fighting, based on the info available Greb at MW would be a nightmare for Robinson. Exceptional chin, blurring speed, punch output, stamina and awkward style - it's a handful for a guy who could be drawn into a brawl. An admittedly past-prime Robinson struggled with Fullmer and Basilio, and all of the Lamotta fights were close (barring the last few rounds of the sixth fight). Obviously Robinson was a supreme fighter with the power to turn any fight, but on paper it's as difficult a match-up as you can think of.
great analysis. you must watch a lot of boxing. answer this question for me, why do calzaghe fans always put down jones and hopkins? these are the only two wins joe will ever be known for even though both fighters had a combined age of 83. wouldn't it make joe look better if calzaghe fans talked about how good they were? calzaghe fans aren't the brightest bunch but i still though they could have figured this one out.
